TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as TSUTAYA), which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, will be offering the complete version of the TV drama series Massan, released by NHK Enterprises, as an advance rental earlier than anyone else.

This drama has been a hot topic as it is the first NHK morning drama series to feature a foreign heroine, and the broadcast on the 20th set a new record for viewership ratings. The final episode will be aired tomorrow, and it will be the first Japanese TV drama to be available for advance rental at TSUTAYA. Volumes 1, 2, and 3, which contain episodes from the first to sixth weeks, are currently available for rental, while volumes 4, 5, and 6, which contain episodes from the seventh to twelfth weeks, will be available for advance rental starting Friday, April 24, 2015. After that, you can continue to rent the series in advance, so you can enjoy the world of Massan even after the broadcast has ended.

TSUTAYA will continue to independently source and offer high-quality movies and TV dramas for early rental so that everyone can watch them as soon as possible.

[story]
May 1919. Masaharu Kameyama, who went to Scotland to learn about whiskey making, returned to Japan with his foreign wife, Ellie. He visits his parents' home in Hiroshima to announce his marriage, but is met with fierce opposition from his mother, Sanae. Ellie struggles to gain Sanae's approval. Meanwhile, Masaharu is encouraged by his father, who says, "If you're going to pursue your dreams, do it at the risk of your life!"With this feeling in their hearts, Masaharu and Ellie confirm their love for each other and vow to live together in Japan.
