- Highlights will be available on VOD until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22nd! The fierce playoff between Akane Iijima and Mi-Jeong Jeon will also be streamed! -

T Point Japan (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter referred to as "T Point Japan") conducted a total of 28 hours of live internet coverage of the LPGA Tour's "T-POINT Ladies Golf Tournament" (Takeo City, Saga Prefecture) over three days from Friday, March 20th to Sunday, March 22nd, 2015. As a result, we are pleased to announce that the total number of views over the three days was over 1.4 million from 85 countries around the world, mainly Japan, Thailand, China, South Korea, and the United States. This number of views is the highest ever recorded for a three-day LPGA Tour event.

In 2013, T Point Japan was the first to undertake full-scale live internet broadcasting of the Japan Women's Professional Golf Regular Tour, and has since pursued "a new way to enjoy golf that has never been seen before."This time too, the tournament will be broadcast live over three days, with live internet broadcasting cameras set up on all 18 holes, creating an environment where viewers can watch the play of all the participating players. The Pro Tracer with distance display, which is in particularly high demand among many golf fans, was moved from the 10th hole last year to the 1st hole, providing the unique tension of the starting hole. In addition, we distributed a lot of behind-the-scenes content of the players that you don't usually get to see, such as coverage of their off-season training and gear, and we were able to provide content that viewers could enjoy, taking advantage of the free media characteristics unique to the Internet.

The reason behind this new record breaking record across three LPGA Tour tournaments was the result of the intense battle that can only be seen on live broadcasts, including the close battle for the winner on the final day and the approximately two-hour, six-round playoff between Akane Iijima and Mi-Jeong Jeon. In particular, during the playoffs, the number of simultaneous viewers peaked at approximately 67,000, with one tweet saying, "In the long playoffs, it was worthwhile to broadcast the game online. I think we were able to convey the greatness of online broadcasting. "Television broadcasts have long since ended, so if it weren't for this online broadcast, golf fans all over the world would be left homeless. " Viewers have posted reviews such as:

T Point Japan will continue to aim to allow many people to experience the true essence of sports - the wonderful emotion of "moving people's hearts" - and to propose a new lifestyle through sports.

I think being able to be involved in this project with a new style of "voice commentary" is something that only internet broadcasting can do. Also, watching all 18 holes played live gave a better understanding of the depth of the game of golf. Each and every player has their own drama. I was able to rediscover that this is what makes tournaments so fun.

"I learned for the first time that golf is an emotional sport," my friend said, and it felt like all the hard work I'd put into broadcasting the game online was worth it. The human drama that lies in each shot can never be conveyed through edited footage. I am very pleased that through the online broadcast, more people have been able to learn about the appeal of golf.

Internet broadcasting began with the T-POINT Ladies. I feel like the day is fast approaching when this will become the standard for golf broadcasts in Japan. Although the tournament was broadcast on satellite, satellite, terrestrial and satellite channels, this time the tournament was facing the second longest time in the history of the Japan Women's Tour, lasting 1 hour and 47 minutes, and the only way to deal with this was through internet broadcasting. It was a great honor for me as a commentator to be able to witness that historic moment. During the live broadcast on the final day, it seemed as though O. Sataya, who started the day with a three-stroke lead, would win the tournament, but the broadcast also showed the terrifying "introduction, development, twist and conclusion" of the 18 holes. With the current LPGA bringing together players from many different countries, internet broadcasting will undoubtedly continue to be a necessity as a tool for communicating with the world. Above all, the footage of that fierce six-hole playoff will surely become a treasured memory for the two players who competed.

I felt that live internet broadcasting, which is not bound by time constraints, has a lot of potential, as it can convey not only the tension of the battle for the championship, but also the appeal of golf beyond the game itself. The images you see live are so powerful that sometimes words are unnecessary. It was a very valuable time, where we had fun and were able to experience the breathtaking atmosphere on set.

Having served as a reporter for the T-POINT Ladies event, I learned that online broadcasting offers a unique way of communicating and is enjoyable for viewers. I believe we were able to show more people the true faces of female professional golfers and the joy of golf. Thank you very much to everyone who watched the online broadcast.

On the first day, when Thailand's O. Sataya took the lead, there were many hits from Thailand, and on the final day, when Mi-Jeong Jeon was vying for the win, there were many hits from South Korea, demonstrating the power of the Internet to deliver footage to the world. I have done a lot of online work, but I have never heard of 67,000 simultaneous viewers. It was a historic day.
