Shinsei Bank Expands T-POINT Program
2015.04.01
Press Releases
Shinsei Bank, Ltd. / T Point Japan Co., Ltd.
- The program has been significantly revamped, and T-POINT will be awarded based on regular bank transactions, account balances, etc. -
Shinsei Bank, Limited (Representative Director, President and CEO: Shigeki Toma; hereinafter, "Shinsei Bank") will significantly expand its program, which awards "T-POINT"*, a shared points service issued by T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter, "T Point Japan"), a consolidated subsidiary of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter, "CCC"), to customers of Shinsei PowerFlex Comprehensive Accounts, from Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
We have previously offered programs and campaigns that award T-POINT to "T Members" who use T-POINT. However, with this latest renewal, T-POINT will be awarded when new customers log in to the internet banking service "Shinsei Power Direct," and when existing account holders make overseas ATM withdrawals, deposit funds from other banks, or register for new automatic direct debits. In addition, there will be a monthly lottery to award a set number of T-POINT based on account balances, significantly increasing the opportunities to earn points compared to the previous program. Please see below for details of the new programs.
Shinsei Bank and CCC formed a business alliance in June 2013 with the aim of expanding the customer base of the Shinsei Bank Group and CCC. In September 2013, they began awarding T-POINT to customers who opened new Shinsei PowerFlex comprehensive accounts. They have since focused on expanding programs and campaigns that allow T Members to earn T-POINT by using Shinsei Bank in various aspects of their lives, such as spending, saving, increasing, and borrowing. Based on the results of the campaigns implemented so far, we have determined that expanding our business partnership with T-POINT will contribute to acquiring new customers and revitalizing transactions, and have therefore decided to further expand the content of the program.
In its Second Medium-Term Management Plan, Shinsei Bank aims to expand the number of customers who can freely use the products and services of Shinsei Bank Group companies according to their needs. As the T-POINT service is one of the important strategies to achieve this, the Shinsei Bank Group will consider further expanding the T-POINT service, leading to an increase in the number of users of the group's products and services. In addition, T Point Japan will continue to expand the program to create an environment where T members can easily accumulate T-POINT.
(*) "T-POINT" is a common points service provided by T Point Japan Co., Ltd. As of the end of February 2015, the number of members was 52.78 million (active unique number), and as of the end of February 2015, there were 121 T-POINT partner companies nationwide, covering approximately 350,000 stores. T-POINT is Japan's largest common points service, and can be used in a wide range of areas closely related to daily life, such as TSUTAYA, ENEOS, Gusto, Kitamura Camera, and Yahoo! Shopping.
