SURUGA Bank opens "T-POINT Branch" combining T-POINT and financial services

-T-POINT service introduced for Visa debit cards-

T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda) and SURUGA Bank (Head office: Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture; President and CEO: Mitsuyoshi Okano) will open the SURUGA Bank T-POINT Branch (hereinafter "T-POINT Branch") on Thursday, April 30, 2015. This is an internet-only branch that combines financial services with the shared points service "T-POINT," which is used by 53.04 million people (as of the end of March 2015).

The "T-POINT Branch" aims to improve the convenience of financial services for T members and will realize two firsts in Japan.

■First in Japan Part 1
Issuance of "Debit T-CARD SURUGA Bank" with Visa debit function

The convenience of a Visa debit card and the fun of collecting and using T-POINT. This will be the first card in Japan to combine both features. We are confident that this will become an indispensable part of our users' daily lives.

■First in Japan Part 2
Visa debit card "instant issuance service"

It will be issued immediately at the counter where you applied. We believe that this will overturn the conventional wisdom of "waiting at home for the card to arrive in the mail" and will be appreciated by customers who are in a hurry to receive their card.

About "Debit T-CARD SURUGA Bank" (nicknamed "Visa Debit T-CARD")

The "Visa Debit T-CARD" available at T-POINT branches is the first card from a Japanese bank to combine four functions in one: 1) Visa debit card function, 2) bank cash card function, 3) automatic overdraft service function, and 4) T-CARD function. (No issuance fee or annual fee)

Card Features

① Earn T-POINT by making transactions at the SURUGA Bank T-POINT Branch. (salary transfer, fixed term deposit, etc.)
②Enjoy shopping all over the world with the same feeling as cash. You can also earn T-POINT. When you pay with your Visa Debit T-CARD at a Visa affiliated store, you will earn 1 T-POINT for every 200 yen (tax included) you spend.
3) You can withdraw local currency from ATMs in over 200 countries and regions around the world.

In addition, we will offer a wide range of financial products and services that are unique to the "T-POINT Branch," which combines T-POINT with financial services.
