Tone Mobile Co., Ltd. / CCC Mobile Co., Ltd.

- Centered on "TONE," the company launches a lifestyle smartphone service combining TONE devices, matching peripherals, and used-device buyback, expanding to 12 stores nationwide by late July -

Tone Mobile Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Atsuki Ishida; hereinafter referred to as "Tone Mobile") and CCC Mobile Co., Ltd.(Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshikazu Hattori; hereinafter referred to as "CCC Mobile") are pleased to announce that they will begin selling "TONE," a new franchise package called "TSUTAYA mobile," at the TSUTAYA Sakurashinmachi store from May 15th and at the TSUTAYA Nakameguro store from May 21st. Starting with this, "TONE" will be sold nationwide on "TSUTAYA mobile."

"TONE" is a strategic capital and business alliance between Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter "CCC") and FreeBit Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nobuaki Tanaka). The two groups have developed a vertically integrated business model covering everything from product development to sales, based on numerous patents.
This new smartphone service offers an unprecedented lifestyle, born from the fusion of Hula and the cultural infrastructure of CCC, which operates TSUTAYA with over 1,400 stores nationwide, and T-POINT, Japan's largest shared points service with 53.04 million members that can be used at over 300,000 stores nationwide.

"TSUTAYA mobile," a franchise package offered by CCC Mobile to affiliated TSUTAYA stores, will provide new lifestyle-oriented mobile services advocated by TSUTAYA, centered around T's smartphone "TONE," including the sale of smartphone cases and earphones and a used device buyback service.

For smartphone cases, M Frontier Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kenichiro Kaneko), which operates UNiCASE, one of Japan's largest smartphone accessory specialty stores, will utilize the wide range of products that only a specialty store can offer to offer a selection of unique and carefully selected TONE original cases to suit TONE sizes and a wide range of users. Additionally, for earphones, which are essential for listening to music on a smartphone, Time Machine Co., Ltd. (Head office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka City; Representative Director: Hironobu Oi), which operates e☆Earphone, Japan's only earphone and headphone specialty store, will provide earphones that match the sound quality of "TONE" from its extensive selection of over 2,000 models available at any given time. In addition, when purchasing "TONE," IOSYS Corporation (Head office: Nihonbashi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka City; President and CEO: Naoki Nakamoto), which handles used PCs and mobile phones in Akihabara, Tokyo, Nihonbashi, Osaka, and other locations, will utilize its digital reuse know-how to provide a used device purchase service, thereby supporting users' enriched mobile lives.

Starting with this sale, CCC Mobile will begin selling the "TSUTAYA mobile" package in 12 stores nationwide by the end of July, with an eye toward opening in 1,440 stores nationwide. As Japan's top mobile professional group, we will focus on franchise development and sales, promoting the mobile lifestyle proposed by TSUTAYA, with "TONE," the "T smartphone that will change smartphones in Japan," as the only device/service available through our MVNO business. Furthermore, Tone Mobile will integrate big data obtained through CCC Mobile's marketing, which includes analysis of user demographics, customer needs, and device usage information, into the "TONE" development roadmap to develop devices and services that are more optimal for users, and will provide a new lifestyle-oriented mobile life experience that combines CCC Mobile's sales and deployment know-how with Tone Mobile's technology and planning capabilities.

<What is "TONE," the smartphone from T that will change Japan?>
T's smartphones that will change the way smartphones are used in Japan
TONE will dramatically change the conventional wisdom about smartphones in Japan.

1. Change your excitement
With TONE, you can earn 1 T-POINT for every 200 yen spent on the device and monthly basic plan fees. Starting in October, you will also be able to pay with T-POINT. Additionally, at TSUTAYA stores that offer TONE, TONE users can rent one CD and one DVD for free each month, and will also receive 10 times the T-POINT when renting CDs and DVDs (until the end of September).

2. Keep it simple
TONE will integrate its main functions into a single app called "ONE."With ONE, you can easily manage photos, videos, music, files, documents, notes, and more on just one screen. In addition, our proprietary platform allows for instantaneous linking of content between PCs and devices without the need for connecting cables. Furthermore, it also integrates market functions, collaborates with the "Online Music Service powered by TSUTAYA MUSICO," and implements "TONE Easy Payment," a carrier payment method that can be paid together with your smartphone bill.

3. Change your sense of security
TONE offers a free family monitoring service called "TONE Family."It is equipped with many features that can be used safely by anyone, from children to the elderly, such as checking the location of children and the elderly, restricting app usage, and limiting the amount of time that devices and apps can be used.
In addition to telephone, store and online support, TONE also offers comprehensive support, including free remote support when you call the support center, where we can provide guidance while operating your device remotely.

4. Change your pricing
TONE's pricing plans are unified into one plan at 1,000 yen per month. The basic plan includes the basic fee for IP phone calls as well as stable standard speed (500-600Kbps) data communication via Docomo lines, so you can use it whenever you need it.
You can purchase a high-speed communication ticket (300 yen per 1GB).

5. Change the way you shop
TONE's O&O strategy (OFFLINE & ONLINE) makes purchasing easier than ever before. While existing carriers focus on either sales in physical stores or online sales, TONE will leverage its strengths in both its physical TSUTAYA stores and its simple and easy-to-understand online store.
