New reading experiences expanded through digital services: "Airbook" now includes 110 magazines!

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) is a group company of TSUTAYA Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as CCC), which operates Japan's largest bookstore chain, TSUTAYA, nationwide. Through the strategic business alliance with BookLive Inc. announced last year by TSUTAYA, the company has been working to create a new reading experience and comprehensive book platform against the backdrop of the expanding e-book market.
We are now pleased to announce that the number of magazines available for our first service, "Airbook," has now exceeded 110, making it one of the largest selections in the industry.

"Airbook," which launched in December last year, has been extremely well-received, with the target magazines added in March recording sales of up to 15% or more compared to the industry average. In order to further enhance our services, we have increased the number of magazines we offer, and have now added seven new publishers. Newly added publishers Kobunsha has added eight magazines, including the popular women's magazines "CLASSY." and "VERY," while Sanei Shobo has added seven magazines, including the men's information magazine "OUTDOOR STYLE GO OUT," allowing them to cater to a wider range of needs for both men and women.
Additionally, the travel guidebook "Rurubu" (※1) published by JTB Publishing Co., Ltd. will have 50 issues from July 10th, covering all areas of Japan. Publishers that already support the service are also increasing the number of magazines eligible for the service, and as of July 18th, the number of magazines eligible for the service has expanded to 110 magazines and 173 titles (※2).

TSUTAYA will utilize its database of 786 bookstores nationwide to offer a space where customers can enjoy the texture and encounter of books that can only be found in a real bookstore, while also creating new reading value by allowing customers to experience the portability and convenience of digital versions, thereby revitalizing the entire industry.

With this service, when you present your T-Card and purchase a book at any participating TSUTAYA store nationwide (*3), the digital version of the book you purchased will be automatically downloaded and you can enjoy it for free. The digital version is provided through BookLive!, so you will need to register and link your Yahoo! JAPAN ID (T-Card number registration) and BookLive! membership the first time only.
