-A first in the convenience store industry to integrate point card, electronic money, cash card, and Visa debit payment functions-
FamilyMart Co., Ltd. (Head office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Isamu Nakayama / hereinafter referred to as "FamilyMart") and Japan Net Bank, Ltd. (Head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo / Representative Director and President: Mitsuhiro Komura / hereinafter referred to as "Japan Net Bank") will begin issuing a card that combines the functions of the FamilyMart-issued T-Card "FamilyMart T Card" and Japan Net Bank's "Cash Card with Visa Debit" on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
This will be the first time in the convenience store industry that a card will be issued that combines points, electronic money, cash, and Visa debit payment functions.
FamilyMart and Japan Net Bank signed a business partnership agreement on September 30, 2014, aiming for a new partnership between convenience stores and online finance.
We aim to provide services that benefit customers by leveraging the infrastructure and strengths of both FamilyMart, which has approximately 11,400 stores nationwide with approximately 10 million daily customers, and Japan Net Bank, which has 2.95 million accounts. As part of this initiative, the two companies will be issuing the "FamilyMart T Card (cash card with Visa debit)."
This card can be used to receive T-Points, the common points service of T-Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda, hereinafter referred to as "T-Point Japan").
Starting today, Tuesday, August 4, 2015, Japan Net Bank will begin accepting card reservation applications on its website.
Also, from the same day, "Account Opening Information Flyers" will be placed in FamilyMart stores nationwide to provide information.
[Make a reservation and use Visa debit to receive 1,500 points]
All customers who select the "FamilyMart T Card (cash card with Visa debit)" and apply to open a regular savings account between Tuesday, August 4th and Monday, August 31st, 2015, and complete the account opening by Wednesday, September 30th, 2015, will receive 500 T Points.
In addition, all customers who use the Visa Debit feature on their FamilyMart T Card (cash card with Visa Debit) at any FamilyMart store in Japan by Saturday, October 31, 2015 will receive 1,000 T Points (for a total of 1,500 points).
