- Launch of monthly flat-rate all-you-can-watch streaming service that includes new releases -
T-MEDIA Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head office: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Sakurai Toru; hereinafter, "the Company"), which oversees the online business of the Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, "CCC") Group, is pleased to announce that "TSUTAYA TV," a video streaming service operated since 2008, has undergone a complete renewal of its viewing plans, viewing functions, design, and more.
Starting today, Monday, August 31st, we have begun offering a monthly flat-rate unlimited streaming plan for 933 yen (excluding tax) that allows you to watch up to two new titles each month, as well as an unlimited streaming + unlimited DVD, Blu-ray, and CD rental plan for 2,417 yen (excluding tax) that combines the TSUTAYA TV streaming service with TSUTAYA DISCAS, Japan's largest online home delivery rental service.
This has resulted in the addition of the DVD and Blu-ray titles available on TSUTAYA DISCAS to the TSUTAYA TV lineup, which also includes new releases, making the service one of the largest in Japan, with a selection of approximately 300,000 titles available, allowing users to conveniently watch the movies they want to watch anytime, anywhere on their TV, PC, smartphone or tablet.
Furthermore, new smartphone viewing features have been introduced, including the ability for customers to choose from high definition (HD) to standard definition (SD), a download viewing function that allows users to watch comfortably on the go in poor communication conditions without worrying about communication costs, and a viewing function that allows users to set the viewing speed from 0.5x to 2x to suit their preference.
In addition, to commemorate the renewal of "TSUTAYA TV," we have launched a campaign where you can use the "Unlimited Streaming Plan" and the "Unlimited Streaming + Unlimited DVD, Blu-ray, and CD Rental Plan" free of charge for 30 days.
Going forward, we aim to help our customers discover great films that suit their tastes and preferences, and to provide them with a better movie experience, by collaborating with T-SITE, an online service that brings together the latest lifestyle news, movies, music, and books tailored to their preferences; database marketing of approximately 55 million T members, a business asset of the CCC Group; and Filmarks, one of Japan's largest movie review services, which has entered into a business partnership with the CCC Group.
