TSUTAYA Co., Ltd., which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, is collaborating with the Mainichi Film Awards to hold a vote for the "TSUTAYA Film Fan Awards," in which film fans will be able to choose the Japanese and foreign films that they found most moving and entertaining from those released in Japan this year, and determine the No. 1 film. This will run from noon on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, through all day on Sunday, December 20, 2015, on a special website for smartphones, PCs, and mobile phones (http://tsutaya.jp/eigafan2015/).

This award is open to the general public and is voted for by TSUTAYA, which provides movies to countless movie fans by renting over 650 million DVDs a year. Last year, two films, "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" and "Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends," were selected in the Japanese film category, while "Frozen" was selected in the foreign film category.

The TSUTAYA Movie Fan Award is the only award in the Mainichi Film Awards that is decided by public votes, and this marks the 10th time the TSUTAYA Movie Fan Award has been held.
