■ Comments from the judges
・Hitomi Kuroki (actress)
"First of all, I was impressed by TSUTAYA's stance of using this type of contest to discover video project ideas and nurture video creators. As a film fan, I am looking forward to seeing the three award-winning works turned into feature films. "
・Muneaki Masuda (President and CEO of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd.)
"TSUTAYA was founded 30 years ago with the desire to help young people who are searching for ways to live their own lives discover their own lifestyles through movies, music and books. As the ways in which movies are viewed expand in the future, TSUTAYA hopes to help produce more and more people who will succeed in the film industry. I believe that if more people have the power to "make good movies," the world will become an even more fun and interesting place. We would like to hold the second TCP again next year. "
・Grand Prix Winner: "The Woman Who Slept with Lies" Comment from Kazuhito Nakae (CM Director/CM Planner)
"If I hadn't won the TCP award this time, I wouldn't have been able to face all the staff who helped me with the presentation video, so I'm really glad that I was able to win. I owe it to all the staff to have been able to win this award. I'd like to treat everyone who helped me to a yakiniku meal at my own expense (laughs). "
・Second Prize (Filmarks Award) Winner: "Room Laundering" Comment from Kenji Katagiri (Assistant Director)
"I'm very much obliged to you. That's all I can say. I've been working as an assistant director for a long time, and there was a time when I thought I might never be able to make a film. That's when I found out about TCP, applied, won the award, and am so thrilled that I can finally make a film myself. Now that I've finally reached the starting line, I'm going to do my best from now on. "
・Second Prize (GREEN FUNDING Award) Winner: "Ura Aka" Comment from Takuya Kato (Assistant Director)
"Among those who made it to the final round, only Katagiri and I had started out as assistant directors, so I am extremely happy to have received this award together with him. I believe that making a film of this project will be the greatest way to express my gratitude to my colleagues who cooperated with me free of charge in making this presentation video. I'd like to use the T-points I received as a prize to treat my friends who helped with the filming to some yakiniku at Gyukaku (laughs). "
The three winning works will each receive up to 50 million yen in funding and production support, and production will begin toward completion. In addition, by linking up with "GREEN FUNDING," a crowdfunding service provided by the CCC Group, we will be able to widely raise production funds, allowing film fans, including T members, to participate in the film's production.
Furthermore, the completed work will be available for exclusive rental at TSUTAYA stores nationwide, as well as on TSUTAYA DISCAS and TSUTAYA TV. In addition, we will continue to announce information about the works from time to time.
