Kanehide Shoji Co., Ltd. (Head office: Nishihara-cho, Okinawa Prefecture; CEO: Nakaji Ken; hereinafter referred to as "Kanehide Shoji"), T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masuda Muneaki; hereinafter referred to as "T Point Japan"), and T Money Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Natsume Eiji; hereinafter referred to as "T Money") are pleased to announce that they have entered into a partnership agreement regarding the introduction of T Points and T Money. As a result, Kanehide Shoji will launch the joint points service "T Points" and electronic money service "T Money" at its food supermarkets "Town Plaza Kanehide" in Okinawa Prefecture from next spring onwards. Kanehide Shoji's introduction of T-Money will be the first such initiative by a food supermarket in Okinawa Prefecture.
Since its founding in 1983, Kanehide Shoji has been working to create stores that are rooted in the local community through Town Plaza Kanehide, with the motto of "providing more convenient and closer interactions with the local community."In particular, based on the basic concept of "replacing your home refrigerator," we offer a wide selection of fresh foods and many other products necessary for daily life, providing our customers with "low prices," "high freshness," and "comfortable service."
T Point, the largest shared points service in Japan, operated by T Point Japan, is used by 55.97 million people (as of the end of October 2015, total number of members after name aggregation), which is more than 40% of the Japanese population. With alliance partners of 131 companies and over 450,000 stores, T Point continues to expand into a points service that can be used conveniently and for great savings in everyday life.
T-Money, an electronic money service launched in November 2014, is used by many members as an electronic money service that allows users to accumulate points and make payments with just one T-Card. In Okinawa Prefecture, T Money is also available at FamilyMart, Drug Eleven, and TSUTAYA.
By introducing T-Points and T-Money, which are used by 840,000 people, or 59.2% of Okinawa's residents, Kanehide Shoji aims to improve the convenience of point services and electronic money services, and will also utilize T-Points data to develop store opening and renovation strategies, sales floor layouts, product lineups, and private brand products based on customer feedback.
We will provide further details on T-Point and T-Money services at Kanehide Shoji as soon as they are decided.
