2016.03.07
Press Releases
Shinsei Bank, Ltd. / T-Point Japan Co., Ltd.
- Relaunched as "T Point Program 2016," T Points are awarded even for investment trust and foreign currency deposit transactions -
Shinsei Bank, Limited (Representative Director, President and CEO: Hideyuki Kudo; hereinafter, "Shinsei Bank") will expand its program for awarding "T Points"*, a shared points service operated by T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter, "T Point Japan"), a consolidated subsidiary of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter, "CCC"), to customers of Shinsei PowerFlex Comprehensive Accounts, as the "T Point Program 2016" from Friday, April 1, 2016.
Through a business partnership with T Point Japan, Shinsei Bank has been running programs and campaigns since September 2013 that award T Points to "T Members" who use T Points when opening a Shinsei PowerFlex Comprehensive Account or using products and services. Initially, in order to raise awareness of Shinsei Bank's T Point service and encourage customers to use it, points were awarded mainly for online transactions and ATM use. In April 2015, we created a program for awarding points and began offering T Points for everyday banking services such as making bank transfers and registering for automatic withdrawals. In addition, in fiscal 2015 we began focusing on awarding T Points for in-store transactions. As a result, we have seen some success in attracting new customers and revitalizing transactions, with accounts recently opened through T-Point programs and campaigns accounting for 20% of all new account openings. For this reason, in this renewal, in addition to the program transactions that began in April 2015, T Points will be awarded for investment trust and foreign currency deposit transactions, expanding the opportunities for point awarding. Points that were previously awarded for opening an account by mail or via smartphone app will also be expanded to include customers who open an account in-store. Please see below for details on the changes to the T Point Program.
In its third medium-term management plan, Shinsei Bank aims to make multi-layered use of the Shinsei Bank Group's customer base. As the T Point service is one of the important strategies to achieve this, the Shinsei Bank Group will consider further expanding the T Point service, leading to an increase in the number of users of the group's products and services. In addition, T Point Japan will continue to expand the program to create an environment where T members can easily accumulate T Points.
(*) "T Points" is a common points service provided by T Point Japan Co., Ltd. As of the end of January 2016, the number of members was 57.07 million (active unique number), and as of the end of January 2016, there were 132 T Point partner companies nationwide, covering approximately 490,000 stores.
