We are pleased to announce that TSUTAYA BOOKS Kumamoto Sannenzaka, a large bookstore in Kumamoto operated by Newco-One Co., Ltd. (Head office: 3006-2 Hirayama-cho, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City; President and CEO: Shinichiro Kamaura), a member company of TSUTAYA, has completed a full renovation and will be reopening.

Newco One Co., Ltd., which operates 17 TSUTAYA BOOKS in Kumamoto, 6 in Fukuoka, and 7 in Miyazaki, as well as TSUTAYA AV Clubs, opened its large Kumamoto store, TSUTAYA BOOKS Kumamoto Sannenzaka (address: 1-2 Ansei-cho, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture), in 2004 (Heisei 16).

Now in its 13th year since opening, the store will be revamping its business model, which has previously been limited to selling and renting DVDs and CDs, and selling books, miscellaneous goods, and games, at its grand opening on April 28th. With the theme of "City Cultural Forest," the building will span from the first basement floor to the third floor (total floor area: 6,660 m2) and will operate together with partners including eight fashion stores, including Starbucks Coffee, @cosme store, and KALDI, seven specialty retail stores, four food and beverage outlets, and three service stores, in order to propose a richer and more cultural lifestyle.

As a result, the museum aims to achieve monthly sales of 250 million yen (annual sales of 3 billion yen), and will serve as a base for disseminating new culture not only to the people living in Kumamoto but to the entire Kyushu region, offering lifestyle suggestions that will enrich the lives of its customers.
