- Proposing a new way to enjoy books "anytime, anywhere, for anyone" -

TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuo Nakanishi; hereinafter referred to as TSUTAYA), which operates 815 "TSUTAYA BOOKS" stores nationwide, has been expanding its services, "Airbook" and "TSUTAYA Digital Benefits," as new reading experiences that combine paper and digital books, through a strategic business partnership since 2014 with BookLive Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tadashi Awano; hereinafter referred to as BookLive). We are pleased to announce that we now have 371 titles, including books and magazines, the largest number in the industry.

"Airbook" was launched in December 2014 as a service that allows customers to enjoy the digital version of eligible products for free when they purchase them by presenting their T-CARD at participating TSUTAYA stores nationwide.

Due to the popularity of SB Shinsho books, which began in June, the sale has been extended until the new releases in December. In addition, 94 titles already published and new titles scheduled for release from the "Berry's Bunko" (Starts Publishing) have been added to "Airbook."We plan to continue expanding our book lineup in the future.

In response to customer needs, we have also expanded our magazine selection to 75 titles, primarily hobby magazines such as the "Strolling Master MOOK" series (Kokotsu Shimbunsha) and "GOLF TODAY" (Sanei Shobo). This allows us to offer a wider range of genres of work to suit each customer's lifestyle than ever before.

In addition, starting today, to commemorate the expansion of Airbook eligible titles, we will be holding the "TSUTAYA x BookLive! Grand Raffle Campaign," where customers who present their T-CARD and purchase books (magazines, books, comics) worth 1,000 yen or more (tax included) and enter online will be entered into a lottery to win luxurious prizes, with 1,000 winners.

Compared to TSUTAYA users overall, users of the "Airbook" service visit stores twice as often per month and purchase three times as many books, demonstrating excellent results and being very well received by customers. TSUTAYA will utilize its database of 815 bookstores nationwide to offer a space where customers can enjoy the texture and encounter of books that can only be found in a real bookstore, while also creating new reading value by allowing customers to experience the portability and convenience of digital versions, thereby revitalizing the entire industry.
