-10x T-POINT Campaign and Collaboration with BEAMS-
TSUTAYA Co., Ltd., which plans various lifestyle proposals through entertainment, will be holding a fair at TSUTAYA and TSUTAYA BOOKS from June 10th, where visitors can experience the world of POPEYE, a magazine that has led the culture and fashion of Japanese youth and had a major impact on society since its launch in 1976, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the publication of POPEYE.

All TSUTAYA BOOKS nationwide will be running a campaign where customers who purchase the magazine "POPEYE" will receive 10 times the T-POINT, and 15 flagship stores (see attached sheet for participating stores) will be holding a fair where limited edition merchandise such as limited edition T-shirts and mugs with illustrations by Yu Nagaba, as well as back issues of the magazine "POPEYE" will be sold.
This commemorative 40th anniversary issue is a return to the roots of the first issue's "California Special Feature," with the current POPEYE editorial department conducting extensive coverage of the latest on the West Coast and California, and comes with a special supplement: a reprint of the original editorial page from the first issue. Stores participating in the fair will also stock a large selection of books related to the West Coast and the magazine "POPEYE," and will also be showing bonus footage from the documentary program "City Boy of 2016 - 40 Years Since the Publication of POPEYE," which will air on WOWOW on June 17th.
Additionally, BEAMS, which was founded in the same year as POPEYE magazine with the theme of "American Life Shop BEAMS," will be opening a pop-up shop at Daikanyama T-SITE, modeled after a West Coast male student's room, for a limited time from June 10th (Fri) to June 17th (Fri), just like the original store.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the magazine "POPEYE," we will be inviting founding members and former editor-in-chief Jiro Ishikawa and current editor-in-chief Takahiro Kinoshita to a talk event on Monday, June 13th, themed "Me and Popeye," where readers can experience the timeless appeal of "POPEYE," a magazine presented by former city boys to current city boy readers. *Tickets to participate in the talk event are already sold out.
TSUTAYA will continue to utilize staff recommendation projects to enhance its stores, showcasing moving and exciting experiences, and will provide services that enrich customers' entertainment lives by linking the real world and the internet.

If you present your T-CARD at any of the 815 TSUTAYA BOOKS nationwide and purchase the July issue of POPEYE magazine, which goes on sale June 10th, you will receive 10 times the T-POINT. *Until July 9th
② "POPEYE" limited edition merchandise sales
Limited edition T-shirts with illustrations by Yu Nagaba, "CITY BOY" T-shirts, and "POPEYE" mugs will be on sale at 15 TSUTAYA BOOKS. *Please note that there is a limited number of products, so once they are sold out, we will not be able to purchase additional items.

We followed the magazine "POPEYE" closely leading up to the release of its 40th anniversary issue. This documentary program includes interviews and anecdotes from the founding members, and explores the spirit of magazine production that has remained unchanged for 40 years.

3. BEAMS pop-up shop open for a limited time
BEAMS' pop-up shop, "American Life Shop BEAMS," will be open for a limited time from Friday, June 10th to Friday, June 17th in the gallery space on the first floor of Daikanyama T-SITE Building No. 2. Please note that some items are only on display and are not for sale.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the magazine "POPEYE," we will be holding a talk event on the theme of "Popeye and Me" on Monday, June 13th on the second floor of Daikanyama T-SITE Bookstore Building No. 1, inviting founding members and former editor-in-chief Jiro Ishikawa and current editor-in-chief Takahiro Kinoshita.
