These directors will be invited to participate in the second round of TCP judging, providing them with the opportunity to take on the next step of making a feature film. ■What is ndjc (New Directions In Japanese Cinema)?

This is an explanatory image of the collaboration between "TSUTAYA CREATORS' PROGRAM FILM 2016" and "ndjc: Young Filmmakers Development Project"!

The Foundation aims to discover and nurture talented young filmmakers, and to hold workshops and production training sessions to pass on the knowledge and skills necessary to hone professional filmmaking techniques and hone one's creativity. At the same time, it aims to support young filmmakers by providing a venue for the presentation of their works with the aim of discovering new talent, and thereby revitalizing Japanese cinema. During the practical production training, students will develop a scenario and shoot a short film using 35mm film, with a completed length of between 25 and 30 minutes.

In addition, TSUTAYA launched the "TSUTAYA TV INDEPENDENT FILM PROGRAM" (hereinafter referred to as TIP) in January of this year as a service that collects and distributes original footage that has not yet been released to the public. TIP supports everyone who creates video works, and allows anyone, professional or amateur, to easily distribute their original works. This year's TCP will also be collaborating with TIP to offer a "TIP Challenge Contest" in which participants will be able to compete in the TCP final judging session.

TSUTAYA and the CCC Group will provide creators who participate in each film festival and program with opportunities to create and present their works through TCP and TIP, thereby providing customers with new and moving experiences. Furthermore, we will contribute to the development and revitalization of Japanese cinema by expanding support for discovering and nurturing new talent that will support the future of the film industry.
