- Rent one old DVD for free every day! Keep your number! Switchover campaign begins! This fall, in preparation for Respect for the Aged Day, seniors can enjoy even more savings and fun with "TONE" smartphone debut.

TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Kazuo Nakanishi; hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA") and Tone Mobile Corporation (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroki Ishida; hereinafter referred to as "Tone Mobile") will be running a campaign this fall for "TONE," a smartphone service provided by Tone Mobile, to support your smartphone debut with "TONE" in a more enjoyable and affordable way.

TSUTAYA's smartphone "TONE" not only offers unlimited internet use on the Docomo line (LTE)* at a reasonable price starting from 1,000 yen per month, but also provides comprehensive support and other services that even smartphone novices can rely on. For this reason, it has become a popular gift for senior customers who have been hesitant to purchase a smartphone because they were worried about whether they would be able to use it properly, and for families who want to communicate casually with their parents who live far away using LINE or other methods. *We may restrict large amounts of data transmitted over a short period of time or for long periods of time.

Starting September 1st, TONE will be running a campaign in which new customers will receive a passport that will allow them to rent one old DVD for free every day for one month at select TSUTAYA stores that carry TONE. In addition, we are also running a "Switching Campaign" for customers who transfer their MNP contract from another company's feature phone or smartphone when signing up for a new contract, where the MNP contract administration fee of 4,500 yen will be waived, to help customers get started with "TONE" in a more affordable, easy and fun way.

In addition, on the occasion of Respect for the Aged Day on September 19th, we will provide senior customers with an unprecedented, richer and healthier lifestyle through "TONE," such as the enjoyment of renting DVDs from TSUTAYA every day and accumulating "Life Log" T-POINT by walking to TSUTAYA.

Campaign Overview

Get one free old DVD rental per day for one month!
Details: New customers will receive a passport that allows them to rent one old DVD for free every day for one month.
Target: New TONE subscribers
Period: Passport distribution period: September 1st to September 30th, 2016
Passport validity period: 31 days from the date of contract
Bonus: One free old DVD, Blu-ray, or VHS rental per day for one month
   ○The passport can only be used at the store where you have signed a contract.
   ○To use the rental service, you will need a valid T-CARD that has been registered for rental use.

Keep your number! Transfer campaign
Details: We will waive the contract administration fee for customers who switch to TONE when signing up for a new contract (MNP transfer) and for customers who apply for TONE in addition to their current mobile phone.
Period: September 1st to September 30th, 2016
 Eligible: ① Customers who switched to TONE when signing up for a new contract (MNP transfer)
    ② Customers who have signed up for a new TONE contract in addition to their current mobile phone from another company
(We will check your current mobile phone at the store when you sign the contract.)
Benefits: 1. Free contract administration fee of 3,000 yen and 090 voice option contract administration fee of 1,500 yen, totaling 4,500 yen
② Contract administration fee of 3,000 yen is waived
