Nikkodo Masui Shoten Co., Ltd. (Head office: Abashiri City; President and CEO: Osamu Masui), a franchisee of Hokkaido TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Sapporo City; President and CEO: Tomohiro Umetani), will be grand opening its 61st store in Hokkaido, "TSUTAYA Utsukushigaoka," on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

TSUTAYA Utsukusigoka is the largest book and cafe in Hokkaido, with an area of approximately 3,000m2, and is based on the concept of "a space where you can find yourself." Taking advantage of the area's high proportion of dual-income couples aged 35 to 60, the store primarily targets women in their 30s and 40s, proposing a richer, more cultured lifestyle.

The store is centered around a BOOK & CAFE that is open from 8am to 1am in collaboration with the popular local Sapporo coffee shop "Cafe MORIHICO." In addition to CD and DVD rentals, the store also has a variety of areas such as a miscellaneous goods area, a kids' corner and a kids' cafe, providing a rich space surrounded by books. We offer a relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy yourself to your heart's content in the most comfortable space in Sapporo, where you can make a variety of new discoveries, experiences, and meet new people.

In collaboration with "Cafe MORIHICO.", you can watch the baristas hand-brew coffee from across the counter, while the latest machines are used to provide high-quality cold-brew coffee, espresso, and smoothies. "felieeds", a sister store of the popular Sapporo bakery Boulangerie Pomme, is a new word that combines "felicity" and "seeds" to mean "seeds of happiness". We deliver delicious, handmade scones and bread that will be the "seeds of happiness" for our customers.
*All bread dough is made using wheat from Hokkaido.

■ "Maruyama Gelato" (Business hours: 8:00-20:00)

Maruyama Gelato, produced by chef and sommelier Shimizu Souta of indigo Maruyama, offers original gelato that combines Japanese and Western flavors. We offer 16 different flavors using carefully selected ingredients, and we also offer suggestions for enjoying the seasons, such as seasonal flavors that are available when the ingredients are at their best.
