TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President and COO: Kazuo Nakanishi / hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA"), which operates 1,478 TSUTAYA stores nationwide, will be giving away stickers to customers who rent the 20th film, "Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare," which is the biggest hit in the series' history, on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, on a first-come, first-served basis.
We will also be launching a giveaway campaign where if you rent three of the five new anime titles released each month by December, you will be entered into a lottery to win some fantastic prizes. Customers who purchase the Blu-ray or DVD of the film from October 26th will receive a free clear file on a first-come, first-served basis.

T-CARD featuring popular characters, including the main character of "Detective Conan," Edogawa Conan, will be issued starting October 5th. In addition, TSUTAYA Online will begin accepting applications for issuance starting today.

The "Detective Conan" series celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, with box office revenues increasing with each new installment. The series has now become a national anime that is not just popular among children, but is also gaining popularity among women aged 15 to 30 (Source: NRC). In response to this, TSUTAYA will also begin selling original design personal bags from October 5th that can be used as bag-in-bags by Conan girls.
One of the reasons for its popularity among women aged 15 to 30 is the fateful rivalry between Akai and Amuro, and after the film's release, sales of the comic volumes featuring the two characters skyrocketed, showing that the series' popularity has spread beyond the cinemas. Comic sales: "Detective Conan" series rapidly gains popularity among women!
With the release of "Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare," there was a sudden increase in people purchasing the comics after seeing the movie, and sales of the latest 90th volume were 106.7% higher than the previous volume before the movie was released. (TSUTAYA survey conducted from August 18th to September 12th)
Furthermore, when we looked at the distribution of purchasers for volume 89, the latest volume in which Akai and Amuro appear, we found that the majority of purchasers were women between the ages of 15 and 30, which is similar to the demographic that has expanded with the theatrical release.
Furthermore, when examining the concurrent sales of those who purchased volume 89, volumes 75, 76, 78, 84, and 85, in which the two characters appear, were among the top sellers, even though more than a year had passed since their release dates. This suggests that after watching the film, people tend to choose the volumes of "Detective Conan" in which the two characters appear in order to purchase the comics.

story:
One pitch-black night, a spy infiltrates the Japanese police. They try to steal confidential data from intelligence agencies of various countries, including the UK, Germany, and the US, as well as the FBI, but Public Security, led by Amuro Toru, arrives just in time.
