TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President and COO: Kazuo Nakanishi / hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA"), which operates 1,478 TSUTAYA stores nationwide, will open "TSUTAYA BOOK STORE Umeda MeRISE" and "STARTUP CAFE Osaka ~KANDAI Me RISE~" (hereinafter referred to as "Startup Cafe Osaka") at "KANDAI Me RISE" on the Umeda campus of Kansai University, which will open on October 1, 2016.
Furthermore, the uniforms at TSUTAYA BOOK STORE Umeda MeRISE are originals created in collaboration with URBAN RESERCH DOORS, a brand developed by local company Urban Research Co., Ltd.

TSUTAYA BOOK STORE Umeda Merise, the first store to open on a university campus, is a book and cafe that offers a selection of books and miscellaneous goods based on the concept of "a place where you can find comfort," where you can enjoy reading while sipping coffee.
About STARTUP CAFE Osaka ~KANDAI Me RISE~
Startup Cafe Osaka is a support center for entrepreneurs located next to the TSUTAYA BOOK STORE. This is an open space where anyone, including Kansai University students, can easily come and consult with the resident coordinators (entrepreneurship support counselors) about starting a business, free of charge. Startup Cafe will hold seminars, various events, business contests, and other events, as well as create a network of entrepreneurs, thereby building an entrepreneurial ecosystem and providing support for those who wish to start a business and those who have already started one.

About the original uniforms created in collaboration with URBAN RESARCH DOORS
The uniforms worn by staff at "TSUTAYA BOOK STORE Umeda MeRISE" are completely original uniforms designed by URBAN RESERCH DOORS. The denim set's stitching is yellow to match the TSUTAYA brand color, and the top is a western shirt with striking yellow stitching. This is an original model that adds workwear elements such as a pen pocket on the left chest and eyelets on the chest to a western shirt. The original uniforms will not only be worn by store staff, but will also be available exclusively at the URBAN RESERCH DOORS pop-up shop inside the store.
TSUTAYA BOOK STORE Umeda MeRISE and Startup Cafe Osaka will continue to actively develop collaborative projects with local communities and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, through Startup Cafe Osaka, we will work with Kansai University to create human resources who will lead the future.
