TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President and COO: Kazuo Nakanishi / hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA"), which operates 1,478 TSUTAYA stores nationwide, and Linda Publishers Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Niibo Katsunori / hereinafter referred to as "Linda Publishers") will begin accepting submissions for the TSUTAYA x Linda Publishers "1st Web Submission Novel Award" today, September 30th, on "Let's Become a Novelist", a novel submission site for aspiring writers of the future.

The first "Web Submission Novel Award" is a new literary award for light novels, accepting submissions from online submissions with the aim of publishing them as books. The goal is to discover new writers who will be "rising stars in the light novel literary world" who will impress readers with their overwhelming entertainment value, ideas, and unexpected story developments. We are looking for novels that will impress professional writers, editors, and booksellers and make them want to publish them as books. The winning work will be published as a book next year by Linda Publishers' light novel literary label, Red Rising Books.

TSUTAYA and Linda Publishers hope to use this project as an opportunity to offer customers new reading experiences through encounters with books, and to revitalize the publishing industry.

"1st Web Submission Novel Award" Application Details

■Web novel submissions Two application schedules:
① Course A, which focuses on the original anime film

Winning entries announced: March 30, 2017, 1:00 PM

② Course B, which focuses on the original work of the live-action film
Application start date: September 30th, 2016, 13:00
Application deadline: March 30, 2017, 1:00 PM
Winning entries announced: July 30, 2017, 1:00 PM
Scheduled publication date for the winning work: July 2017 onwards

*Linda Publishers will actively promote the winning works to film distributors as potential original film works, so there is a possibility that they may be made into a film. However, please note that we cannot guarantee that your work will be made into a film.

Award: 100,000 yen Grand Prize: 150,000 yen
*Regardless of whether it is Course A or Course B.
*All winning works will be published as books by Linda Publishers' Red Rising Books.
*Multiple winning works may be selected.
*The winning works will be approached by a film company willing to cooperate in turning them into a film. However, we cannot guarantee that the film will be made. note that.

・Works written in a foreign language, works rated 18+ (sexual depictions, excessively violent depictions), derivative works, and works that imitate the works of others will be excluded from selection.
・All publishing rights and secondary usage rights for the winning works, including film, comic, game and merchandising, will belong to Linda Publishers. A separate royalty will be paid to the author. Furthermore, as a general rule, we do not request that works be removed from "Shousetsuka ni Narou."In addition, for this target, we will claim publication priority from Linda Publishers at the time of application.
