- "MOBILE T-CARD" feature added to 7 million downloaded TSUTAYA app -

TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President and COO: Nakanishi Kazuo / hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA"), which operates 1,478 TSUTAYA stores nationwide, has launched a nationwide "Request Order Service" on October 3rd (rental products: approximately 1,200 stores, sales products: approximately 700 stores), which allows customers to order products using in-store search machines.

In addition, TSUTAYA's official app, the "TSUTAYA app," which has now been downloaded over 7 million times, will be reborn as even more convenient with the introduction of new features, "MOBILE T-CARD," and "Recommended Works Push Notifications" tailored to each individual.

1: Request order service
This is a new service from TSUTAYA that allows you to easily order rental items (DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs) and sales items (DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, books, comics) that are not available in stores from the store's search machine without having to go through staff. When customers visit a TSUTAYA store, they can easily order items that are not in stock on the spot from a selection of approximately 330,000 rental titles and approximately 635,000 sales titles.
In addition, when it comes to receiving products ordered from the store terminal, you can choose to either collect them at the store where you ordered them or have them delivered to your home.

*This service is not available at some stores, and even at stores that offer the service, some products cannot be ordered.

2: New features added to the TSUTAYA app
The TSUTAYA app now includes new features such as "MOBILE T-CARD" and "Recommended Works Push Notifications."

New app feature 1: MOBILE T-CARD
MOBILE T-CARD is a service that allows you to use the same membership card functions as a T-CARD, earn and use T Points, and even make payments with T-MONEY by holding your smartphone over a dedicated terminal or presenting a barcode when renting CDs or DVDs or purchasing products at TSUTAYA.

*To use the MOBILE T-CARD, you need a Yahoo! JAPAN ID with your T-CARD number registered.
*For devices that support Osaifu-Keitai, such as Android, you can use "wave"; for devices that do not support Osaifu-Keitai, such as iPhone, you can use "barcode."


・Even if you forget your T-CARD, you can use your smartphone
"MOBILE T-CARD" has the same functions as the T-CARD. Even if you don't have a T-CARD, you can use the rental and purchase services at all TSUTAYA stores with the "MOBILE T-CARD."(When renting, you must register your rental card in advance.)

・T-MONEY means no need for a wallet
The "MOBILE T-CARD" is equipped with a T-MONEY function. If you load cash onto your T-CARD, you can use T-MONEY to pay at TSUTAYA with just your smartphone. (For details on T-MONEY services, click here)

New app feature 2: "Recommended work push notifications" tailored to each individual
We will use each customer's purchasing and rental history to send them push notifications with recommended titles tailored to them. This will enable us to offer our customers a higher quality entertainment experience.
(To receive recommendation push notifications, you must log in and turn on notification settings within the app.)

3: Introduction of contactless IC card readers
We have installed new electronic money readers in all our stores, allowing you to pay with T-MONEY and other electronic transportation money (Suica, PASMO, etc.). (Introduction in some stores is scheduled for the end of December)

Going forward, TSUTAYA will provide more convenient and user-friendly services that cater to the lifestyles of customers of all ages and genders, and will strive to create stores that make customers' daily lives more enjoyable and happy.
