T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Kazuhiko Kitamura) has launched the "T-CARD Everyone's Social Project," a social value creation project that will give back to and contribute to society and consumers by utilizing the more than 60 million T members, 156 T-POINT Alliance companies, and approximately 4 billion pieces of purchasing data provided by the T-CARD.
In this project, we will focus on "community coexistence" based on the background that T-POINT and T-CARD have grown with the support of people of all ages in all regions of Japan, even among the various social issues facing the world today. As the first step, a project will be launched on November 12, 2016 to develop products using Sanriku oysters as an ingredient, based on T-CARD data.

The theme of this first project is "Creating delicious local food with primary producers and T-CARD," and members who "love seafood and are particular about food," as determined based on various lifestyle data from T-CARD*1, will be involved in product planning. In addition to T-members, this project has also received support from Sanriku fishermen, including Fisherman Japan*2, T-POINT partner Yahoo Japan Corporation, which has expertise in merchandising, and food supermarket companies. Using oysters harvested in Sanriku as ingredients, the project will develop processed oyster foods that can be enjoyed throughout the year, even outside of the peak winter season.
Going forward, we will seek participation from a wide range of T-POINT partner companies and hold several product development sessions with relevant parties to promote planning with the aim of commercializing and selling the product in spring 2017. Future Sessions Inc. will cooperate as a facilitator for the product development session. This product is scheduled to be sold on the e-commerce site "Tohoku Yell Market" operated by Yahoo Japan Corporation. Through product development, this project aims to spread awareness of the wonderfulness of Sanriku seafood, including oysters, and to create opportunities for people to visit Sanriku through this product.

The "T-CARD Everyone's Social Project" will utilize the various assets provided by T-POINT and T-CARD to implement initiatives that will help resolve social issues facing local communities and promote coexistence within the community.

Through this project, T Point Japan will strive to enhance the brand value of T-POINT and T-CARD, as well as increase their usage. Going forward, we will continue to work to create new social value, with the aim of making T-POINT and T-CARD "cultural infrastructure that connects people, and people and society."

*1 Data is derived in a way that does not identify individual customers, such as names or addresses.
*2 "Fisherman Japan"...As older fishermen are retiring from fishing due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, young fishermen have come together across the boundaries of region and industry to once again revitalize Sanriku, one of the world's three largest fishing grounds, and to aim for a fishing industry that future generations will aspire to. First of all, they aim to become "truly cool and profitable fishermen," and are proposing a form of the future fishing industry that will continue for the next generation, from Tohoku to the rest of Japan and then to the world.
