Comments from the final judges
・Kyoka Suzuki (actress)
"In preparation for the final selection, I read eight scripts, and each time I read a new one, it was so much fun. Even if you did not win this time, please continue to make the films you want to make without giving up. I will continue to work hard so that I will have the opportunity to see your scripts in the future, so I hope that you will also continue to work hard and hold on to your dreams. "
・Muneaki Masuda (Chairman and CEO of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd.)
“TCP’s goal is to produce people who will be successful in film. Currently, the Japanese film industry is dominated by people who are unable to focus their careers on film, but through TCP we hope to produce people who can get paid, use their free time, try new things, and come up with good ideas.
Today, through the presentation of the eight works, I felt the essence of life in each work, and seeing everyone working hard made me feel that I too must work hard.
The purpose of TCP is to discover talent and revitalize the industry. Therefore, this time's winning works were chosen not based on the highest score, but by focusing on "TSUTAYA's unique perspective" and "people."
My thoughts on focusing on people come from the words of Tokyo Mayor Goto Shinpei: "Leaving money behind is the bottom, leaving businesses behind is the middle, and leaving people behind is the top."In other words, it all starts with people. I believe the second TCP was filled with the desire to make the film industry a place that focuses more on the people who make films, in order to improve it in the future. We will be holding this event again next year, so please apply again next year. We also ask for your support for the first winning works, which will be released soon. Thank you for today. "
Comments from the winners
Grand Prix Winner: "Aishu Cinderella" (working title) by Ryohei Watanabe (screenwriter/director)
"I didn't want to have any regrets, so I worked really hard to prepare and practiced my presentation. I can't believe that we're actually making a movie, and I'm very happy. Thank you very much. "
・Second Prize (Filmarks Award) winning work:
"Ghost Masters! ~How the Cursed Video is Made~" (tentative title) by Paul Young (film director)
"I'm really happy. It's been a long journey to get to this point, but it's something I've always wanted to do, so I'm happy that we can finally make it a reality. The work is still incomplete, and I still have to make it more interesting, so I'll do my best. "
・Runner-up (GREEN FUNDING Award) winning work:
"Finding Daddy" (working title) Junichi Kanai (video director)
"In his general review, Coach Inudo made some harsh comments, and I thought I had to follow up on that advice, so I didn't think I would receive the award this time. When I heard that it was going to be made into a movie, I felt relieved, but at the same time, I felt like I'd been resurrected from hell. This year I had a lot of free time, so I was able to use it to try TCP. I was really putting my all into this, so I think this is just the beginning. I want to make a film that is absolutely entertaining and worthy of the Grand Prix. "
・Judge's Special Award Winning Work: "Blue Hour" (tentative title) Yuko Hakoda (Video Director)
"Thank you so much for taking the time to create this special award. I'm very happy that it's being made into a movie. "
The winning work will be provided with production costs and support for the production structure, and production will begin towards completion. In addition, by linking up with "GREEN FUNDING by T-SITE," a crowdfunding service provided by the CCC Group, we will be able to widely raise production and promotional funds, allowing film fans, including T-members, to participate in the film's production.
Furthermore, the completed film will be available for exclusive rental at TSUTAYA stores nationwide, as well as on TSUTAYA DISCAS and TSUTAYA TV. Information about the winning works will be announced in due course.

■TSUTAYA CREATORS' POROGRAM final selection works (in presentation order, titles omitted)
①Title: "Boy's Song" (tentative)
Planner: Hirokazu Kai (writer, filmmaker, works at Shelter)
Project highlights: "Boy's Song" is a powerful and headstrong coming-of-age story about a 13-year-old boy named "Tora" who is heartbreakingly "difficult to live," who encounters freestyle rap, experiences friendship and love for the first time, and grows in ways that amaze everyone.
② Title: "Dokanaka Wars" (tentative)
Planner: Erika Tani (video creator)
Project highlight: The selling point of this work is its modern feel! The protagonist is a sixth grade elementary school student who uses crowdfunding to tackle the social issue of school closures and consolidation in depopulated areas. I want to protect my beloved alma mater. Because it changed me when I had no place in the city. The boy's earnest desire will move the hearts of those who watch.
3. Title: "Aishu Cinderella" (tentative)
Planner: Ryohei Watanabe (Scriptwriter/Director)
Summary: A woman at the bottom of despair marries a prince, begins living in a castle (a love nest), and gradually becomes overwhelmed by the "poison" of family ties... This film depicts the shocking after story of the beloved Cinderella. Witness the horrific fate of Cinderella, the symbol of the "happy woman."
④Title: "Blue Hour" (tentative)
Planner: Yuko Hakoda (video director)
Project highlights: The protagonist is a middle-aged woman who is in a time that is unclear as to whether it is the dawn or dusk of her life. A man returns to the countryside he hates, but finds himself at odds with his family, becoming convinced of an unbridgeable gap, and ultimately realizing he hates the countryside after all. This petty story, based on a true story, is beautifully and humorously portrayed in a dreary rural setting.
⑤Title: "Ghost Masters! ~How the Cursed Video is Made~" (tentative)
Planner: Young Paul (film director)
Storyline: On the set of a low-budget horror film, naturally, none of the staff believe in ghosts, but then a real evil spirit appears...! The staff believe in the movie and put themselves through the harsh conditions on set, determined to complete the video even at the risk of their own lives, in this passionate horror comedy!!!
⑥Title: "Shinonome Contrast" (tentative)
Planner: Touka Nomura (company employee)
Project point: I feel that today, as part of the process of growing up, there are many people who never get to question their own feelings. One of the obstacles is the boundaries that society draws. The story is about how the kindness of the people around us helps us overcome these fears and discover our true selves.
7. Title: "Finding Daddy" (tentative)
Planner: Kanai Junichi (video director)
Project highlights: A moving entertainment piece that will make you laugh and cry. The story deals with serious themes such as a daughter with leukemia and blood ties, but I hope to make the viewer laugh and be deeply moved through the desperate figure of a comical and unattractive father.
8. Title: "Dead Letter - Undeliverable Letter" (tentative)
Planner: Reiko Saito (film director)
Project highlights: This killer was created as an attempt to express what is happening in the world today as something new and entertaining. Will a young doctor be able to uphold justice as he faces off against a well-intentioned murderer? Experience the horror along with the protagonist!
