Daikanyama T-SITE and Daikanyama TSUTAYA BOOKS are celebrating their 5th anniversary and will be holding their biggest Christmas event yet, a light-up event. The world created by plant hunter Seijun Nishihata is joined by balloon art by Daisy Balloon, and SANDWICH, led by sculptor Kohei Nawa, creates a fantastical space. This is a special Christmas event that embodies Daikanyama T-SITE's theme of "A Library in the Forest" through plants and art.

The illumination, filled with a beautiful, clear blue light that seems to blend in with the plants, is filled with a mysterious romance and beauty. It is a little different from electric illuminations, and creates a fantastical yet vibrant atmosphere, creating a special time for adults.

Additionally, the plantings by Seijun Nishihata have divided Daikanyama T-SITE into forests representing the five continents, from Europe to Oceania. The fifth generation owner of a wholesale flower and plant business that has been in business for 150 years since the end of the Edo period.
He has traveled throughout Japan and dozens of countries around the world and collected thousands of types of plants.
Using plant materials collected daily, the company responds to over 2,000 requests per year, both from within Japan and overseas.
In 2012, he launched the "Sora Botanical Garden," an initiative to plant plants in people's hearts, and has since carried out a variety of plant-based projects in collaboration with numerous companies and organizations across the country, which have been met with positive feedback.

SANDWICH is a creative platform that was born in 2009 by renovating a former sandwich factory along the Uji River in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto.
Under the direction of sculptor Kohei Nawa, various creators including artists, designers, architects and dancers have come together to collaborate under pseudonyms in an open network. There are a variety of projects underway simultaneously, including the student-led ULTRA SANDWICH PROJECT and residencies for creators from Japan and abroad.

●DAISY BALLOON
An artist unit consisting of balloon artist Rie Hosogai and art director/graphic designer Takashi Kawata. Since its formation in 2008, the group has created numerous balloon works based on the theme of "sensation and quality."
The balloon dress in particular is reminiscent of an architectural structure with its delicate detailing, and has captivated many people. Furthermore, while their daily fieldwork involves exploring philosophical themes and discussing things and people, their gaze is always directed towards essential fusion with others.
