Shimachu Co., Ltd. (Head office: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; President and CEO: Yamashita Sikio; hereinafter referred to as "Shimachu") and T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Kazuhiko Kitamura; hereinafter referred to as "T Point Japan") are pleased to announce that they have entered into a points program agreement.

Shimachu serves customers with the "spirit of a merchant," the foundation of retail, and as a leader in housing culture, strives to contribute to the enrichment of local communities by providing locally-focused products and high-quality services. Currently, Shimachu operates 59 combined furniture and home improvement stores, primarily in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Meanwhile, T Point Japan operates "T-POINT," Japan's largest shared points service, which is used by 61.02 million people*1, or one in two people in Japan, and can be used in all aspects of daily life, including convenience stores, supermarkets, drugstores, restaurants, clothing stores, electronics retailers, mobile phones, online shopping, and electricity, at over 590,000 stores*2 operated by 159 companies nationwide.

As times and the economic environment change dramatically, Shimachu will introduce the T-POINT service to offer products such as daily necessities and furniture that suit customer needs and diverse lifestyles. By utilizing the T-POINT database, Shimachu will engage in database marketing, such as CRM (customer relationship management), optimization of sales promotions, and merchandising, including product lineups. The T-POINT service at Shimada is scheduled to begin this fall, and further details will be provided as the launch date approaches.

Through this initiative, Shimachu and T Point Japan will provide customers in areas where Shimachu has stores with an environment where they can accumulate and use T-POINT when shopping at furniture and home improvement stores, thereby improving services to make everyday shopping even more convenient and enjoyable than ever before.
