Takahashi City, Okayama Prefecture (Mayor: Kondo Takanori, hereinafter referred to as "Takahashi City") will open the Takahashi City Library on Saturday, February 4, 2017, in a complex adjacent to JR Bitchu Takahashi Station. Through our partnership with Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Masuda Muneaki, hereinafter referred to as "CCC"), we aim to make the library more accessible to Takahashi residents, a place where people can gather and learn.

The concept of the new Takahashi City Library is "a library that connects to the future."As a library that connects people with the city of Takahashi, it is open 365 days a year, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

10 Features of Takahashi City Library

1) This is a library attached to JR Bitchu Takahashi Station. There is a terrace at the entrance just past the ticket gates that can be used as a waiting area while waiting for a train or someone to pick you up.
2) A library that is open 365 days a year. 　Opening hours are 9:00am to 9:00pm.
3) At the entrance to the library, there is a tourist information center that introduces places you should definitely visit when you come to Takahashi, as well as Takahashi's proud local products.

4) The venue has 356 seats. We have created a library where you can relax and enjoy your stay. The building is fully equipped with Wi-Fi and seats with power outlets are also available.
5) We created a separate children's library on the fourth floor, making it a floor where children can spend time without worrying about getting a little excited. The terrace will be equipped with play equipment, welcoming children as a place where they can learn and play freely.

6) We have set up a study room, which was highly requested by citizens, to provide a place where they can concentrate. In addition to reference books and education-related books, the room also houses textbooks used in the city.
7) The local history room, which houses a collection of books related to Takahashi and Okayama, will host regular fairs and events.
8) You can enjoy your coffee purchased at Starbucks Coffee, which is painted in Takahashi's theme color, "Bengara," while reading a book anywhere in the building.

9) The Tsutaya Bookstore, which stocks over 40,000 books including comics, magazines, and the latest publications, is located next to the library to complement it.
10) The number of book return locations has increased from 5 to 19. Books can also be returned at local community centers, Polka, and Yume Town.
