Tone Mobile Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ishida Hiroki; hereinafter referred to as "Tone Mobile") is pleased to announce that "TONE Family," a family monitoring service for the "TONE" smartphone provided by Tone Mobile, has become the first smartphone feature to be certified as a recommended feature by nine prefectures and cities in the Kanto region, including Tokyo (Saitama Prefecture, Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama City, Kawasaki City, Chiba City, Saitama City, and Sagamihara City).

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government recommends mobile phones and other devices that are designed with the healthy development of young people in mind, as well as functions that can be used on mobile phones, with the aim of preventing harmful information on the Internet for young people and preventing use that disrupts their lifestyles. This certification is the first in about four years, and "TONE Family" is the only recommended smartphone service (as of March 2017) among the services offered by the three major carriers and all other MVNOs. In addition, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has set recommended standards for the usage period, dividing it into "the period when mobile phones etc. are used solely for contacting parents etc. (roughly elementary school age)" and "the period when children are learning about Internet use (roughly junior high school age and above)." "TONE Family" is the first function to simultaneously meet both recommended standards.

"TONE Family" is a service that allows parents to monitor their children's location and usage of each app, and allows parents and children to discuss and control usage. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Committee for Review of Recommended Mobile Phone Devices, etc. has determined that the various functions of "TONE Family" can "prevent young people from using mobile phone devices, etc. to contact people whom their parents do not want them to contact. ""It has the function of allowing protection or custody by guardians, etc. " " "It is possible to appropriately restrict late-night use of mobile phones by young people according to the situation at home, and to improve the lifestyle habits of young people.
It is possible to prevent the use of mobile phones and other devices that disrupt social interaction and to prevent dependent use of such devices. It was evaluated as meeting all recommended criteria, including:"TONE" is the first MVNO to be certified as a recommended product by the National Children's Association, providing a safe smartphone life to many children and their families.
