--Erika Kikuchi's gorgeous shots and more are available on VOD until April 21st!--
T-Point Japan Co., Ltd., Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd., and CCC Marketing Co., Ltd. conducted a 24-hour live internet broadcast of the LPGA Tour's "T-Point Ladies Golf Tournament" (Kagoshima Takamaki Country Club) over three days from Friday, March 17th to Sunday, March 19th, 2017. We are pleased to announce that this live internet broadcast was viewed from 101 countries around the world, primarily in Japan, Thailand, China, the United States, and South Korea, with a total of approximately 3 million views over the three days, six times more than last year.
In 2013, T-Point Ladies became the first Japanese women's professional golf regular tour to undertake full-scale live internet broadcasting, and has pursued "a new way to enjoy golf that has never been seen before."This time, in addition to streaming online from the T-Point Ladies official website, the event was also broadcast live through various channels, including on AbemaTV, a free internet television station that launched last year. The total number of views over the three days was 2.28 million via the T-Point Ladies official website and 610,000 via AbemaTV, for a total of 2.89 million views.
The theme of this online broadcast was "slow and zoom," and high-spec cameras were used to broadcast the events from 8:00 a.m. to the finish of the holes, for a total of 24 hours each day over the three days of the tournament. Additionally, to highlight the achievements, secrets to their strength, and struggles of the foreign teams that have become increasingly strong in recent years, we invited Kim Ae-sook as a commentator to talk about the training methods of foreign players and their mindset going into matches. Other commentators included Take Koyama, Nagai Natsu, and Uesugi Takashi, and the play-by-play announcer was Fukunoue Tatsuya. Each of the five commentators gave their own perspective on how to enjoy the tournament, course descriptions and strategies, as well as tips on approaches and shots, all in a light-hearted manner that made it feel like listening to the radio.
T Point Japan will continue to aim to allow many people to experience the true essence of sports - the wonderful emotion of "moving people's hearts" - and to propose a new lifestyle through sports.

■Comment from the commentator:
It is truly a great honor for me as a commentator to be involved in the internet broadcast of the T-Point Ladies once again this year.
It's great that so many golfers can watch a professional game live, and see the story from the first hole to the last.
Kikuchi's victory may have looked like a comfortable "landing victory" to those watching from the final back nine, but it probably didn't look that way to those watching from the first hole via internet broadcast.
A sport like golf, with its storyline, really only works with full live coverage.
I heard that on the final day of the tournament, wireless cameras were used to broadcast live coverage of every hole.
Even from a player's perspective, it's a dream come true to have so many golf fans be able to watch the story of the 18 holes through their smartphones, computers and tablets.
I think this is the culmination of the efforts of everyone involved in the internet broadcast.
It is said that no two snowflakes in the world are the same. Furthermore, these new crystals will become the driving force behind creating even more moving stories... I sense even more potential.
It has been six years since the test broadcast without an audience.
The challenge that was scolded as "reckless" has finally paid off.
We wholeheartedly welcome the arrival of a new year in the golf world.
In 2017, our track record and experience as a pioneer in internet golf broadcasting came together in perfect harmony and bore fruit in Kagoshima.
With our fantastic commentators and viewers approaching 3 million views, let's work together again next year to create a live golf broadcast that the whole world can participate in!
It was my first time commentating on golf, and the three days were a new experience for me.
It was a long broadcast, but it was so enjoyable that I didn't feel tired.
Whenever I watch golf broadcasts, I always feel like the seriousness of the competition overshadows the glamour of female professional golfers.
The internet broadcast provided many opportunities for sponsors, golf fans, and players to come together and feel a greater sense of intimacy.
The players responded cheerfully to the interviews, and I think this was because the interviewers were able to draw out their true feelings through straightforward questions.
However, as someone who competed in the tournament, I have one regret: I felt that the final day's broadcast was lacking in quality.
I regret that I could have done better if I had been able to better convey the excitement of becoming a champion and the disappointment of losing.
Although I was not able to do much, I hope to use opportunities like this to convey information that will lead to the development of the golf world in Japan.
Thank you for giving me this valuable experience.
I was very honored to be involved in the online broadcast of the T-Point Ladies event.
I think the golf coverage was a great project and broadcast that met the requests of golf fans who wanted to watch from the first hole, the first group on the first day.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to T-Point Japan for giving me this opportunity, to all those involved, and above all to all the golf fans who watched the broadcast.
