The long-awaited film adaptation of the first Grand Prix winning project of the "TSUTAYA CREATORS' PROGRAM (TCP)," a video creator support program run by Culture Entertainment Inc. (CE), a CCC Group company that operates entertainment businesses such as planning and producing videos, publishing, and music, and TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (TSUTAYA), which operates TSUTAYA stores nationwide, has been announced, and the cast has also been decided.

"A Woman Who Loves Lies (the project title at the time of winning the Grand Prix was "The Woman Who Slept with Lies")" won the Grand Prix at the first TCP2015, out of a total of 474 submitted projects. The cast includes talented actors Masami Nagasawa, Issei Takahashi, and Kotaro Yoshida, and filming began on March 12th.

Through TCP, TSUTAYA and CE will support new talent who will lead the future of the film industry by providing many up-and-coming creators with a venue to propose "video projects" and opportunities to produce them. Additionally, we will continue to utilize the group's resources to adapt original works into films so that we can reach more people with our original projects.

TCP is a program that invites proposals that can be turned into films from both professional and amateur artists, discovers creators who can create the films, and provides comprehensive support from production to rental, sales, and distribution. By supporting "Seeds of Masterpieces" in cooperation with various companies in the industry, we will create an environment that produces new talent and opportunities to meet new creators, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the film market. Details of the film "Woman Who Loves Lies"

The screenplay and direction is by Nakae Kazuhito, a young talent in the world of commercials and winner of the TCP 2015 Grand Prix. His emotional style and unique visual beauty, as seen in commercials for Japan Post Bank, Sumitomo Life, and Sea Breeze, have been highly praised, and he has become the next Tetsuya Nakashima (Confessions, Thirst). He is regarded as a talented person who will lead the film industry in the next generation. Nakae has long aspired to be a film director, and now he is finally taking on his first feature film, which is scheduled for nationwide release.

Masami Nagasawa (29) will play the role of the heroine, Kawahara Yukari. She will be taking on the delicate role of an adult woman, playing a perfect career woman working for a top company who is at the mercy of her boyfriend's big lie. Also, the role of Yukari's boyfriend, who calls himself Koide Kippei, is played by actor Issei Takahashi (36), whose acting has captivated filmmakers all over Japan. The role of Kaibara Takumi, a private detective who becomes Yukari's accomplice, will be played by talented actor Yoshida Kotaro (58), who is now an indispensable presence in dramas and movies.

Her appearance is the ideal that women all over the world aspire to. Kawahara Yukari (Nagasawa Masami), a career woman who works at the forefront of the beverage manufacturer, has been living with her caring boyfriend, Koide Kippei (Takahashi Issei), a medical researcher, for five years. One day, while Yukari was waiting for Kippei to come home late, a police officer suddenly showed up.
"Who the hell is he?"
Kippei is found collapsed and unconscious due to a subarachnoid hemorrhage. It turns out that all of his driver's licenses and medical licenses were forged, and that not only his occupation but even his name was a lie.
Shocked at having been deceived for so long and unable to shake the question of "who he is," Yukari makes up her mind to turn to private detective Umihara Takumi (Yoshida Kotaro) for help. Eventually, they find a 700-page unfinished novel that Kippei had been writing.
It contained several hints that reminded people of their hometowns, and pictures of a happy family.
With Umihara's help, Yukari learns that the location is somewhere in the Seto Inland Sea, and sets out to uncover Kippei's secret...
Why did Kippei have to lie about everything and deceive Yukari?

Kazuhito Nakae (born April 23, 1981) from Shiga Prefecture
Graduated from Musashino Art University. He began making independent films in college, and his graduation project, "Single," won the Audience Award at the Pia Film Festival and was subsequently shown at several international film festivals. In 2008, he won the Grand Prix in the Fabulous 4 category at ADFEST, the Asian version of the Cannes Lions Lions. He is at the forefront of the industry as a commercial director/planner. He won the Grand Prix at the TSUTAYA CREATORS' PROGRAM FILM 2015 for "A Woman Who Loves Lies" (the project title at the time of winning the Grand Prix was "The Woman Who Slept with Lies"), and took the helm for his first feature film.

Yukari Kawahara (30) / Masami Nagasawa, born June 3, 1987, from Shizuoka Prefecture
She is a hard-working woman who works in planning and development at a major beverage manufacturer and was awarded Woman of the Year.
She is thinking about marrying her boyfriend, Kippei, with whom she has been living together for five years. She has lived her life as if she embodied the image of a perfect woman, with a passion for work and romance, but when Kippei collapses, she finds herself at the mercy of his "lies."

When I read the script, I realized that people are always searching for a place for their emotions.
The character I'll be playing this time, Yukari, is life-sized, so I hope to play her without overreaching myself.
The set created by Director Nakae is very calm and comfortable.
I have trust in the director and am able to be very relaxed on set, so I hope to approach the role carefully.
Takahashi-san is a senior I have respected since we co-starred in "Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World," so I'm very happy to be able to work with him again.
I'm really looking forward to working with Yoshida, who can play any role, including those with strong personalities. I hope to learn from the good points of my seniors and form a good team.

Kippei Koide (37) / Issei Takahashi, born December 9, 1980, from Tokyo
Yukari's lover. He took care of all the housework in place of her while she was devoted to her work. One day, he suddenly collapsed due to a subarachnoid hemorrhage and fell into a coma. He had told Yukari that he was a research doctor, but it turns out that everything about him, including his name, occupation, driver's license, and family register, was a lie.

My first impression after reading the script was, "It's wonderful!"
I felt that this work depicts a fundamental question about love, asking whether human nature can overcome lies. I am truly happy to be able to participate in this work.
Kippei is a character who lies and hides his inner thoughts, so I would like to work with the director and my co-star Nagasawa to create the character without defining his skeleton, but rather to bring out his multifaceted personality.
Nagasawa, who has appeared with her on stage and in commercials, gives the impression of beautifully expressing the feminine charm of both a young girl and an adult. I am extremely honored to be able to work with him on this project in a slightly different way. Director Nakae's film "Woman Who Loves Lies" is a truly "continuous" worldview that the audience can experience intimately. I hope that viewers will intuitively sense and receive the story's destination.

Takumi Kaibara (50) / Kotaro Yoshida, born January 14, 1959, from Tokyo
A former police officer turned private investigator. He is divorced and has not been allowed to see his daughter due to a misunderstanding with his ex-wife.
He is unsociable and not good at expressing himself, which often leads to misunderstandings. He is gradually influenced by his client Yukari's single-minded pursuit of the "lie."
I will accept it.

In this work, he appears to be blunt and uninterested in Yukari's feelings, but there is something about him that makes him unable to leave her alone.
That's why I play a slightly clumsy detective who wants to do what he can, but can't express it well.
I'm also looking forward to working with Nagasawa Masami. We will be filming in Imabari and Onomichi for nearly two weeks, so I want to be on my toes.
