-T Point service scheduled to be introduced around June 2017-
Sendai Bank, Ltd. (Head Office: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture; President: Suzuki Takashi; hereinafter referred to as "Sendai Bank") and T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kitamura Kazuhiko; hereinafter referred to as "T Point Japan") are pleased to announce that they have entered into a business partnership for point services.
Through this business partnership, the T-Point service will be introduced for financial products handled by Sendai Bank around June 2017. This partnership is the first of its kind for a financial institution in Miyagi Prefecture. Details of the T Point service at Sendai Bank will be announced once they are decided.
Sendai Bank and T Point Japan will continue to provide even more convenient financial services to customers using both companies' services in Miyagi Prefecture.
Overview of the T Point Service
T Points are used by 62.33 million people (as of the end of March 2017, the number of members who used the service in one year after name aggregation), which is equivalent to one in two people in Japan. T Points are the largest common points service in Japan and can be used in all aspects of daily life, including convenience stores, supermarkets, drugstores, restaurants, clothing stores, electronics retailers, mobile phones, online shopping, and electricity, at a total of 640,000 stores from 168 companies.
In Miyagi Prefecture, where Sendai Bank has its head office, there are 1.05 million T-Card users, or 44.9% of the prefecture's population, and T-Points can be used at 1,158 stores.
