TSUTAYA stores nationwide will be offering free original TSUTAYA "Parent-Child Day" book covers and message bookmarks in stores from July 3rd (Mon) to July 31st (Mon) as a way to introduce a new tradition of parents giving their children a book to express the feelings they normally find difficult to put into words.

The original book cover was designed by photographer Bruce Osborne, a proponent of Parent-Child Day, using photographs of parents and children that he has taken over the years. You can handwrite the message you want to convey on the message bookmark and attach it to the book you want to give as a gift. In addition, the official TSUTAYA "Parent-Child Day" website features stories from TSUTAYA bookstore employees about "a book they received from a loved one."

Through "Parent-Child Day," TSUTAYA will propose a new custom of deepening family bonds in each parent and child's own way by giving a "book" that conveys the thoughts that parents want to pass on to their children and the memories they want to leave behind.

What is Oyako Day? http://oyako.org
oyakologo.jpgBruce Osborne, the photographer and originator of Oyako Day, proposed the fourth Sunday of July as Oyako Day, with the idea of "looking at the relationship between parents and children, who meet for the first time in their lives, paying respect to the family, community, society, and all aspects of the environment, including nature, and praying for peace."Reaffirming the basic relationship between parent and child, which is given to everyone, can be an opportunity to regain confidence in one's existence and can also lead to a desire as human beings to care for the global environment. "Parent-Child Day" is a gift to the future that we all raise together.
