(Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "Hulu"), operator of the online video streaming service Hulu, are pleased to announce that C.E. has acquired all videogram rights to Hulu's original drama series, and has agreed to offer advance rental of these series at CCC Group's TSUTAYA and TSUTAYA BOOKS.
As video viewing environments become increasingly fragmented, with large-screen TVs at home, PCs, smartphones, and tablets, video streaming service companies are producing an increasing amount of original content, which is gaining popularity among viewers for its content and high quality.
With this comprehensive offering, C.E. will continue to provide these high-quality video titles to movie and drama fans who use approximately 1,400 TSUTAYA stores nationwide, proposing a place where customers can enjoy Hulu's high-quality video titles in a style that suits their lifestyle, not only through streaming but also on DVD and Blu-ray.
The first title in this comprehensive offering will be the crime suspense drama "The Price," based on the novel by Shun Ioka and starring Shun Oguri, which will be available for advance rental from October 25th. Hulu will continue to offer original drama series in the future. Further information on the lineup will be announced as it is decided.
