ーEstablishment of a joint venture between Hokkaido TSUTAYA and Passive Homeー

Hokkaido TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Sapporo, Hokkaido; President and CEO: Tomohiro Umetani) has established a joint venture, Ivy Design Co., Ltd., with Passive Home Co., Ltd. (Head office: Sapporo, Hokkaido; President and CEO: Hiroya Kawata), and is scheduled to open the Ebetsu TSUTAYA BOOKS (planned and operated by Ivy Design Co., Ltd.) in the summer of 2018.

Ebetsu TSUTAYA BOOKS is a large bookstore complex consisting of three buildings: Food, Knowledge, and Lifestyle, based on the concept of "Slow Life in a Garden City." Each building will have a Book & Cafe at its core, and will be a relaxing space surrounded by nature, with the aim of becoming a base for the local community where a variety of customers can gather.
