■Comments from the final judges
・ Mieko Harada (actress)
"Each of the works that appeared at the final judging session were interesting scripts. It's easy to criticize, but I understand how difficult it is to create a work of art. With that in mind, what I would like to say to those here who are planning to make films or who have made films is that "the screen reflects everything."Of course, the actors' bodies, voices, and movements are all captured on screen, but it also shows something deeper: the intangible hearts that lie at the core of the people involved in making the film. I want everyone to be aware that the screen reflects everything, and to live their lives to the fullest and feel deeply in order to create better works. If you write a script and create a film in this way, I believe you will be able to create something that will reach people's hearts deeply, so please do your best."

・Muneaki Masuda (Chairman and CEO of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd.)
"Thank you so much for gathering here today. 35 years ago, there were no video manufacturers in Japan, so TSUTAYA was founded in Hirakata, Osaka, after purchasing 700 VHS tapes from an American video manufacturer.
Last year, TSUTAYA's rental users grew to over 200 million, with the number of rental titles exceeding 600 million.
Just watching your presentations today made me feel like I was watching a movie. Each film made me think and made me reflect on my own way of life, which led to a very lively judging session. Films have an impact on the way people live their lives, and are wonderful works that pack all kinds of life into two hours. Just as a book is a work of art that is the author's heart and soul, and music is a work of art that is the artist's heart and soul, I was able to feel the heart and soul of all the presenters today, which gave me energy myself. I hope that many people will participate next year and support works that will bring joy to the world of Japan."
