TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Nakanishi Kazuo; hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA") is pleased to announce its 2017 annual rankings for video, music, and comic rentals, as well as its annual rankings for book, video, music, and game sales, based on data from TSUTAYA users. (Detailed rankings for each genre are available on the website. )

Rental Ranking

The hit movie "Your Name." became available for rental in July. ' won the top spot in the annual DVD rental rankings. It has become a historic work, recording the highest number of rentals in TSUTAYA's stores on the first day, making it the "highest number of rentals in the anime genre in Japan ever."In music, back number, who took first place last year for albums, took first place again this year, and Hoshino Gen's "Koi" took first place for singles, just like last year, proving the popularity of both artists.

Cell Ranking

In the book category, two books in the "Encyclopedia of Unfortunate Creatures" series took first place. In addition, in the music album category, Namie Amuro's greatest hits album, which announced her retirement in November, topped the annual rankings just one month after its release in November, reflecting the voices of fans all over Japan who are saddened by her retirement.
