CCC Marketing and Nowcast begin collaboration on big data analysis in the financial sector

- Joint development of financial information services based on purchasing data representing over 7 trillion yen in related sales -
CCC Marketing Inc. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuhiko Kitamura; hereinafter referred to as "CCC Marketing") and Nowcast Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ryota Hayashi; hereinafter referred to as "Nowcast") are pleased to announce that they have begun collaborating on big data analysis in the financial sector.
This collaboration will develop a new financial information service that combines CCC Marketing's membership base of 65 million people and purchasing data of over 7 trillion yen, equivalent to approximately 2% of domestic private consumption expenditure, with Nowcast's know-how in big data analysis and knowledge in the financial and economic fields.
As the first step in their financial information service, CCC Marketing and Nowcast will launch a sales trend forecasting service for listed companies based on purchasing data in April of this year. This service utilizes T-Card purchasing data and Nowcast's machine learning model to predict and index sales trends for listed companies. Target companies* are expected to include toiletry manufacturers and optical equipment manufacturers, with the number of target companies to be expanded gradually as research and development progresses.
*T Point Alliance companies are not included in the eligible companies.
In today's financial markets, many investors are exploring ways to utilize big data, particularly data related to consumer purchases, in an effort to develop new investment methods based on technological innovation. This trend is expected to gain momentum in the future, driven by further advances in technological innovation and the European financial regulation "Mifid2."This initiative aims to pave the way for the asset management industry to address the growing need for big data-driven information and to promote information transparency in financial markets.
Starting with this initiative, Nowcast and CCC Marketing will deepen their collaboration in a wide range of areas in the field of big data analysis in the financial sector, including the development of price and consumption indexes.
