Head office: Meguro-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Suzuki Takayuki / hereinafter referred to as Filmarks), are pleased to announce that the film "Ninja no Kuni" has been selected in the Japanese film category and "La La Land" in the foreign film category for the Mainichi Film Awards "TSUTAYA x Filmarks Movie Fan Awards 2017," in which movie fans choose the most "moving" and "interesting" film released in Japan in 2017.

The "TSUTAYA x Filmarks Movie Fan Awards 2017" was organized by TSUTAYA, which offers a wide range of films to movie fans, and Filmarks, one of Japan's largest movie review services. The awards are the only awards decided by public vote within the "Mainichi Film Awards," a prestigious and historic event in the Japanese film industry. The awards selected the top films in both the "Japanese Film Division" and the "Foreign Film Division" through voting between November 10, 2017 and December 25, 2017. The two films that win first place in each category will be honored at the awards ceremony for the 72nd Mainichi Film Awards to be held on February 15, 2018.
