(Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuhiko Kitamura; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which develops the "Smartphone Wallet" app that consolidates the various cards in your wallet, including point cards and electronic money, is pleased to announce that it has conducted a "Survey on Attitudes Regarding Point Card Ownership" targeting 600 men and women in their 20s to 50s.

While many people have given up on points, it has been found that the total amount of points not earned at checkout (i.e., ghost points) amounts to approximately 58 billion yen per year. As the trend towards one smartphone per person continues, there is a strong desire to use "point card consolidation apps" that allow users to manage their point cards on their smartphones and eliminate the need to carry cards around, and among these, "smartphone wallets" were found to be the most highly rated in each category.

The total amount of "ghost points" lost due to forgetting point cards amounts to approximately 58 billion yen per year!
• Approximately 70% of point card holders have experienced wallets bulging with point cards, and these people tend to take more than 30 seconds to present their card when paying!
• Approximately 80% of people have forgotten their point card when paying.
Of those, over 70% had to reluctantly give up on their points!  
• The points they were supposed to receive were named "Ghost Points."
