Gakken Plus Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa, Tokyo/President and CEO: Ikari Hideyuki, hereinafter referred to as Gakken Plus) and TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo/President and COO: Nakanishi Kazuo, hereinafter referred to as TSUTAYA) will be holding the "Stationery General Election 2018," an awards contest to determine the best stationery product released in 2017, on Gakken Plus's flagship media "GetNavi" and "GetNavi web," from Saturday, February 24, 2018.
The "Stationery General Election" has been held every autumn since 2013, sponsored by the trend information magazine "GetNavi."TSUTAYA supports the Stationery General Election's aim of "enjoying and enriching life through stationery" and will be working together with the initiative starting in 2018.
This year, the event will be held in spring, when new beginnings begin, and will feature "efficient stationery" that helps make daily work more efficient. Voting will also be available online, allowing more fans across the country to participate.
Additionally, on Sunday, March 11th, an event will be held at the TSUTAYA Yokohama Minato Mirai store, inviting stationery specialists to help promote the awards. We look forward to your participation.
Through the "Stationery General Election 2018," GetNavi and TSUTAYA will offer users better criteria for selecting products.

What is the Stationery General Election 2018?
An award hosted by "GetNavi" and "GetNavi web" to determine the number one stationery item. This year's theme is "Efficient Stationery."GetNavi is featuring the importance of "efficient stationery" in the "work style reform" that many companies are currently working on, and the judges, including stationery sommelier Suga Misato, stationery writer Kidate Tantan, broadcast writer Furukawa Kou, business book author Misaki Eiichiro, GetNavi editor-in-chief Nomura Junya, and TSUTAYA buyer Sato Momoe, have selected around 60 products that are worthy of the name "efficient stationery" from stationery released over the past year. The grand prize for the prestigious Stationery General Election will be decided by votes from GetNavi readers and those at the TSUTAYA event venue.
This year's event will be held in six categories: "Writing/Erasing," "Storing," "Recording," "Sorting/Marking," "Cutting/Pasting/Binding," and "Communicating."Awards will be awarded in each category, and the product with the most overall votes will be awarded the Grand Prize.
The nominated products will be announced in the April issue of GetNavi magazine (on sale February 24th), as well as on GetNavi web and in some TSUTAYA stores. Voting will be accepted between February 24th, 2018 and March 11th, 2018 via postcards at the back of the April issue of GetNavi, online, and at the event venue, TSUTAYA Yokohama Minato Mirai store, on March 11th. After the awards are decided, the winning products will be announced in the June issue of GetNavi (on sale April 24th), on GetNavi website, and in some TSUTAYA stores.

On Sunday, March 11, 2018, a special stationery general election event will be held at TSUTAYA Yokohama Minato Mirai store. Admission is free, and you can actually touch and try all the products nominated for the Stationery General Election before voting.
In addition, there will be a special talk show featuring leading experts in the stationery industry (stationery sommelier Misato Suga, stationery writer Tantan Kidate, TV writer Kou Furukawa, and business book author Eiichiro Misaki), as well as the editor-in-chief of GetNavi and a TSUTAYA buyer!
