TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / President and COO: Nakanishi Kazuo / hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA") and its subsidiary Taiwan Tien Tien Market Sales Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Deloitte Film & Television, Taiwan's largest home video publishing agent and a subsidiary of Taiwan's CMC Group (Central Group), with whom TSUTAYA entered into a strategic capital and business alliance in 2012, have opened the "TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Taichung City Store," a lifestyle-oriented BOOK & CAFE that combines a bookstore and a cafe, on Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Taichung City, which continues to evolve as a hub for culture and the arts in Taiwan.

TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Taichung City Hall is the fourth store in Taiwan of TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE, a lifestyle-focused bookstore where customers can discover their own lifestyle while sipping coffee or a drink and selecting a book in a space that combines with the cafe and restaurant WIRED TOKYO. On the first floor of the same facility is the Wu Bao Chun Wheat Factory Taichung Flagship Store, winner of Master de la Boulangerie, a competition to determine the world's best baker. The store is located in Taichung's cultural and arts district, where luxury goods and experiences come together, adjacent to the National Taichung Theater, an opera house designed by renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito, and the luxury department stores Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Dayuanbai.

By stocking not only high-quality products but also products that can be used for everyday use, the store aims to be a "store that you will want to visit every day" by offering the TSUTAYA-style "lifestyle suggestions" and creating a comfortable space.The 1000m2 sales floor stocks a wide variety of over 20,000 high-quality MADE IN JAPAN clothing, stationery, and miscellaneous goods, including Japanese, Chinese, and Western books, as well as brands selected by Naoyasu Yoshitsugu, the fashion concierge at Ropponmatsu TSUTAYA Bookstore in Fukuoka, which opened at the end of last year, such as the Okayama-based handmade hat and apron brand "DECHO/NAPRON," the accessory brand "CANDY DESIGN WORKS," and the outdoor brand "ALLSTIME."

Additionally, Doug's Burger, made with Tarama beef from Okinawa Prefecture, will be available at WIRED TOKYO, which will be opening its first overseas shop-in-shop. Also, a first for a TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE in Taiwan, there will be a kids' corner with a selection of picture books and educational toys where you can read aloud. Furthermore, a PlayStationRVR* experience corner will be available for a limited time on the event floor.

TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE plans to open its fifth store in Taiwan by the end of 2018, and will continue to stimulate the creativity of Taiwanese people, offering new reading styles and exciting experiences, with the aim of becoming a special place loved by many.

We carry a wide selection of high-quality clothing, stationery, and miscellaneous goods made in Japan, including brands such as "DECHO/NAPRON," "CANDY DESIGN WORKS," and "ALLSTIME."There will also be a pop-up corner for the world-renowned sake, Dassai, for a limited time.

The third floor has a wide selection of books on topics including kids, beauty, food, travel, literature and arts. There is also an outdoor terrace with a spacious feel.

WIRED TOKYO, which has 100 seats on the second floor, is home to Doug's Burger, which is opening its first overseas location.
