3. About the Data Business Creation Contest
This data business creation contest is open to students from high school to graduate school across the country, and is based on the theme of "The Future of Bookstores." Participants will compete to propose "Neo Bookstores" for the internet age that will create the future of reading culture using book sales data, open data, and other data.
Keio University SFC Research Institute worked with its business partner CCC Marketing to formulate the theme for this contest, as well as handle the judging and awards process. Additionally, CCC Marketing provided book sales data from "TSUTAYA" and "Tsutaya Bookstore" for use in this contest (the data provided will be part of data that has been statistically processed so that specific individuals cannot be identified).
CCC Marketing believes that it is its social responsibility as a company to give back to society and consumers the T Card data entrusted to it by its customers, and is working to make opportunities to access T Card data widely available. As part of this initiative, we provided data to the contest, hoping that participants would create businesses while interacting with the data, which would lead to the creation and rediscovery of new value in data.
This time, 53 teams applied to participate, of which 28 teams entered the preliminary round. Of the 10 teams that passed the preliminary screening, 9 teams participated in the finals and gave their final presentations at the finals presentation.
