-CCC Art Lab proposes art and lifestyle ideas to coincide with the "Klimt Exhibition" to be held in April-

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Masuda Muneaki, hereinafter referred to as CCC), whose business domain is "lifestyle proposals," will be running a "Contemporary Klimt Lectures" project, centered around its group company CCC Art Lab Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Nakanishi Kazuo), which offers lifestyle proposals centered around art, in conjunction with the "Klimt Exhibition: Vienna and Japan 1900" (organized by Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture), The Asahi Shimbun Company, TBS, and the Austrian Picture Gallery Belvedere), which will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Ueno Park, Tokyo) from April 2019. By reexamining Klimt's lifestyle, which transformed his work while incorporating the diverse cultures and values of fin de siècle Vienna, this project aims to raise questions about the way of life in modern Japan, where "diversity" is attracting attention, and to provide hints for how to confront it.

Furthermore, this project is a project example of CCC Art Lab, which was established in May 2018, and aims to maximize synergy among group companies, not just through collaboration between businesses but also across the board. We will be announcing specific developments in the "Contemporary Klimt Lectures" in due course, so please stay tuned.

●Publishing a concept magazine
Bijutsu Techo, a media and business specializing in contemporary art, will publish a concept magazine for the "Contemporary Klimt Course."Through a re-examination of Klimt's life and works, and interviews with prominent opinion leaders, the program will raise questions about the diverse ways of living and working today. The Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore concierge and Bijutsu Techo will work together to edit the magazine, offering comprehensive advice from book creation to in-store display. Scheduled for release in late March 2019.

●Concept corner will be set up at Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore
Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore, which proposes a lifestyle with art, has set up a book corner that examines the concept of the "Contemporary Klimt Lectures" from various angles. In addition to the above concept magazines and Klimt-related books, books and merchandise related to lifestyles and working styles will be gathered in one place, and related talk events will be held. The purpose of a real bookstore in modern times is to provide an opportunity to encounter new wisdom.

●Developing and selling original goods
The art shop "NADiff" and the e-commerce service "OIL" by Bijutsu Techo are developing and selling original goods. The merchandise will be developed from the perspective of the "Contemporary Klimt Lectures," which differs from the exhibition merchandise that uses images of Klimt's works, and will be available at the exhibition venue, Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore, NADiff, and the OIL website.

We have many other plans, and are looking for participation from other companies and individuals. Please contact us for more details.

CCC Art Lab is a holding company of four highly influential companies in the art field: Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore, Bijutsu Shuppansha, NADiff, and Mitsumura Suiko Shoin. By collaborating and offering each company's practical know-how, we will develop our business as a LAB that expands "editing" to "planning," "sales floor" to "practice space," and "communication" to "exchange."
