"Outrage: Final Chapter" tops DVD rental chart, while Kenshi Yonezu takes two titles in music rental charts

TSUTAYA Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Nakanishi Kazuo; hereinafter referred to as "TSUTAYA") is pleased to announce its 2018 annual rankings for video, music, and comic rentals, as well as its annual rankings for book, video, music, and game sales, based on data from TSUTAYA users. "Outrage: Final Chapter," the final installment of the popular series directed by Takeshi Kitano, has topped the annual DVD rental rankings. Amid a trend where many live-action adaptations of popular novels and comics are ranking high, the fact that an original work with no original source material has taken first place in the annual rankings demonstrates the enduring popularity of the "Outrage" series. In music, Kenshi Yonezu's works topped both albums and singles, making him the face of the moment in 2018.

In the book category, the bestselling manga "How Do You Live?", which has sold over 2 million copies, took the top spot. In terms of music albums, the year was notable for the release of works by big artists of the Heisei era, such as Southern All Stars, Mr.Children, and Utada Hikaru.
