T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Kitamura Kazuhiko) is pleased to announce that it signed an official sponsorship contract with T League (Head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Matsushita Koji), a general incorporated association that operates a professional table tennis league, in March 2019, and will be working on a full-scale support project starting with the Nojima T League 2019-2020, which begins on August 29th.

The table tennis "T League" is based on the principles of "realizing the world's number one table tennis league," "increasing the business value of table tennis sports," and "enriching lives through table tennis." Taking inspiration from the German table tennis league*, the organization is working with the Japan Table Tennis Association and other related organizations to realize the T League concept. The first season of the Nojima T League 2018-2019, which began in October 2018, recorded an attendance of approximately 110,000 people across 86 men's and women's matches throughout the season.

T Point Japan collaborates with a variety of sports, including golf, baseball, soccer, basketball, skiing, and formula car racing, with the aim of allowing as many people as possible to experience the true essence of sports - their incredible power to move people's hearts. We empathize with the T League's efforts to make table tennis, which is popular among a wide range of people, stronger internationally, and have decided to support their activities to help make the sport known to even more people.

As the first part of the support project, we are conducting crowdfunding (https://greenfunding.jp/) will start on Thursday, August 29th. We hope that through this project to promote office ping pong tables, we will increase the number of table tennis fans in our local areas.

T Point Japan also conducted a survey of visitors at the Nojima T League 2018-2019 season playoff final, which was held on March 17th. Among these, table tennis is a sport that many people have played at schools, hot spring inns, and community centers, and the fact that people often come to watch T League matches with their spouses, significant others, or children shows that it is an accessible sport enjoyed by a wide range of generations, from children to adults.

■Comment from T League
We feel encouraged to be working with T-Point, which is used by many people in Japan.
Furthermore, a real survey of visitors revealed once again that table tennis is enjoyed by a wide range of people, regardless of age or gender. We will be deepening our collaboration with T-Point in the future, including marketing to visitors and efforts to promote table tennis both domestically and internationally.

■T League Overview
This is a domestic table tennis league that started in the fall of 2018. Four teams will participate in both the men's and women's tournaments, each playing a 21-game regular season, with the top two teams advancing to the finals. Decide the champion team. To be eligible to participate, each team must have at least one world-class player who has been ranked in the top 10 in the world within the past two years. This means that not only are there high-performing Japanese players on the world stage, but top players from around the world are also expected to take part.

*The German table tennis league is pyramidal, divided into 16 levels, with the first and second divisions known as the "Bundesliga," and many players from not only Germany but also overseas, including Japan, participate.
