Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishitokyo City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiko Sato; hereinafter "Citizen") has successfully raised 100 million yen in support for its solar-powered smartwatch, Eco-Drive Riiiver, which will be released in late October 2019, on GREEN FUNDING, a crowdfunding platform operated by a group company of Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Muneaki Masuda; hereinafter "CCC"), a lifestyle planning company. The watch has successfully raised 100 million yen in support, the highest amount ever raised.

Citizen is taking a different approach to its business for Eco-Drive Riiiver, a solar-powered smartwatch compatible with the Riiiver IoT platform, which connects people, things, and events using a variety of devices. Eco-Drive Riiiver is a new and unprecedented smartwatch that can be linked with Riiiver to set your favorite functions, change functions to suit your mood or the situation, and use the Riiiver smartphone app to easily create and share functions.

On June 17, 2019, Eco-Drive Riiiver was put up for pre-sale on GREEN FUNDING, a crowdfunding platform with a user base that is highly responsive to new technologies and new products. At the same time, an exhibit was held at Tsutaya Electrics+, a next-generation showroom, to allow visitors to experience the world of Eco-Drive Riiiver, which allows users to freely configure its functions based on their own preferences. As a result, the target amount was reached in just 30 minutes after the start, and the project ended on August 31st with a total amount of pledges exceeding 100 million yen, the highest ever. The project proved so popular that all the stock prepared as rewards for backers sold out.

Citizen and CCC plan to utilize CCC's lifestyle data on 69.61 million people to discuss marketing promotions for Eco-Drive Riiiver aimed at users who share the value and lifestyle of this new watch, and to develop the business together with the CCC Group.
