Summit Energy Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ozawa Junshi; hereinafter "Summit Energy"), a member of the Sumitomo Corporation Group, and T Point Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Kitamura Kazuhiko; hereinafter "T Point Japan") have concluded a T Point Program Agreement and will launch the T Point service with Summit Energy's electricity rate plans from January 20, 2020.

The Summit Energy Group began operating Japan's first power plant fueled by tree-derived biomass in Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture, and has since launched similar power plants in Handa City, Aichi Prefecture, and Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, striving to provide a stable supply of electricity with reduced CO2 emissions compared to when fossil fuels are used. Additionally, starting in April 2019, we have begun offering affordable electricity rate plans for general households.
In response to growing consumer awareness of working to create a sustainable society in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), T Point Japan has begun collaborating with Summit Energy, which operates biomass power plants within the group, to offer Summit Energy's electricity rate plans as an option to all 70 million T members nationwide. *

Summit Energy and T Point Japan will continue to strive to improve their services to make everyday life more comfortable.

■ Service start date: Monday, January 20, 2020
■Service details: If you select the "T Point Course" on the Summit Energy website and register your T Card number, you will earn 1 T Point for every 100 yen of your monthly electricity bill. In the future, we aim to expand our services so that customers can use their accumulated T Points.

*Not all of Summit Energy's electricity is supplied from the Summit Energy Group's biomass power plants, and individual customers cannot choose the electricity they receive.
