Cancellation of the "T Point x ENEOS Golf Tournament"

The organizers and the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) have decided to cancel the third tournament of the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Tour, the "T Point x ENEOS Golf Tournament (Kagoshima Takamaki Country Club, Aira City, Kagoshima Prefecture)," which was scheduled to be held from March 20th to March 22nd.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, on February 26th the government announced its intention to "request that large-scale sporting and cultural events be canceled, postponed, or scaled down for the next two weeks or so," and various events have decided to postpone or cancel in response to the government's request. Furthermore, on March 10th, it was announced that "we would like you to continue your current efforts for approximately the next 10 days until the decision of the expert committee is made," and there is still no prospect of the situation being resolved.

Under these circumstances, the organizers and the JLPGA have carefully considered whether to hold the tournament. However, with the priority being to ensure the safety and security of spectators, players and volunteers, and taking seriously the government's stance on preventing the spread of infection as a national issue, we have been forced to cancel the event.

We would like to offer our deepest apologies to all the fans who were looking forward to the event, as well as to all those involved in preparing for it, and we ask for your understanding.
