-A wide range of limited edition items, as well as collaboration goods with Kyoto's traditional crafts and artists-
CCC ART LAB Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshiya Kubota), which practices "proposing a lifestyle with art," will open "ART LAB KYOTO" on May 26, 2020, at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, which is reopening this spring after renovations designed by the Jun Aoki/Tetsuo Nishizawa design team. The museum shop embodies "Kyoto," a city that respects tradition while always maintaining an innovative perspective and leading the way in disseminating Japanese culture.
The museum shop area, which is open to the town and the public, offers a wide range of products, including exhibition merchandise, books and merchandise that showcase Kyoto's traditional culture and contemporary art, items in collaboration with artists, and limited-edition original sweets.

Original goods featuring the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art logo
To celebrate the renewal, original goods will be available, supervised by the Beams Creative Research Institute, with the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art logo as the motif.
The design, based on white and dark gray, unifies the image of the museum, echoing the museum's new logo and the design of the new building, created by architect Jun Aoki, who has been appointed as the museum's new director.
Based on the concept of "slightly clever items" that can be used not only as souvenirs but also as everyday items, the museum will offer traditional yet innovative goods that match the flexible sensibilities of the Okazaki area, which is surrounded by traditional beauty in Kyoto and has developed new individuality.
We bring together members who have built up careers at BEAMS Co., Ltd., which operates the select shop BEAMS.
The department was started in 2010. By utilizing each individual's expertise and relationships, we work mainly with external clients.
We receive orders for a variety of projects fromWe undertake product planning, production, and direction for individuals or teams. In the art-related field, we also handle promotional projects linked to art museum exhibitions.

ART LAB KYOTO limited folding fan
With the cooperation of Miyawaki Baisenan, a long-established fan shop in Kyoto that has been in business since 1823 (Bunsei 6), the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art has turned some of its most representative collection works into folding fans.
The company was founded in 1823. The founder, who was from Mino Province, founded the company by purchasing shares from Omiya Shinbei. The current shop name is Shoga
During the time of the third generation Shinbei, who had deep connections with literary figures and artists, in 1887 he was invited to the Japanese painter Tomioka Tessai.
It was named after the famous Kyoto tree called Mesenzakura. The trademark Miyako fan was created by Reizei Tameki.

ART LAB KYOTO limited Kyoto Japanese sweets
Each month, we will be selling limited quantities of special Japanese sweets from Kyoto confectionery shop Shuko, featuring seasonal artworks from the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art collection, for two days only each month (first sale on Saturday, May 30th), and reservations are required. Enjoy the original Kyoto sweets that are unique to the museum and a little different from those at the main store.
The motif for May and June is "Piano" by Nakamura Daizaburo. The harmony between the colors of the work and the gracefulness of the woman depicted is expressed through three types of Japanese sweets.

This Japanese confectionery shop, located in Omiya Teranouchi, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City, is known for its authentic Japanese sweets that are both innovative and respectful of tradition.

For the time being, as people are being asked to refrain from traveling between prefectures, visitor numbers will be limited to those who reside in Kyoto Prefecture. As a measure to prevent infection, admission will be restricted to those who make a reservation in advance and visitors' temperatures will be checked.
