■Grand Prize
・Elementary School Lower Grades Division: "The Great Fire of Edo and the Legendary Dragon: Magic Tree House 23" by Kaoru Kimura
[Comment from the Executive Committee]
It was a powerful piece that took us back in time to the Edo period, depicting a fire, a dragon, and rain that were incredibly powerful!
The paper cutouts, which are made from origami paper and candy wrappers that are found in the artist's home, make it seem as if you can still hear the chaos that was the streets of Edo.
・Elementary school middle grades division: "The Hermit Crab Move" by Sakurada Mahiro
[Comment from the Executive Committee]
This colorful and vibrantly drawn hermit crab is brimming with confidence.
In the warm, fresh ocean scene, many of the hermit crab's friends are depicted, as if watching over the hermit crab's new beginning. It was a work that conveyed a determination to make a new start.
Upper elementary school division: "The Ruler of Life" by Mirei Fujita
[Comment from the Executive Committee]
Read the work, feel it for yourself, and decide how you should act.
Their determination and warm hearts for animals were very clearly conveyed through their impression drawings.
・Junior High School Division: "Looking Up at God's Dice" by Aika Sano
[Comment from the Executive Committee]
The city on that day appears inorganic, but its final lights are lit. The backs of the protagonists can only watch as the dice approach. It was an incredibly realistic experience, as if you could almost hear quiet conversations.
・General Category: "The Neverending Story" by Yumi Tanaka
[Comment from the Executive Committee]
The worldview of the story itself and the depiction of Bastian overlapping with yourself back when you first encountered the work and became obsessed with it gave us a nostalgic feeling, as if we were all on a trip to a world of memories.
